| This may be a winner. I just received these @ 2pm after ordering last night! Zappos continues to amaze me with timely service. My 5th pair of Salomons in this genre of shoe and I must say these are the best looking of any Salomon I've seen. I hesitated to write a review so soon, but my initial impression is good. I have a narrow/somewhat high arched foot and finding shoes that sort of fit is challenging. I hate to admit that half the shoes I buy don't see a lot of wear. As I get older, comfort and proper fit become a bigger deal. The Exit Aero is probably the snuggest fitting Salomon I've tried. It has a narrow heel and somewhat roomy toe box, but my foot doesn't move much laterally within the shoe which is a good thing. My size 13 seems a bit short compared to most. If it were any shorter, I'd say it was shorter than marked and I know I can't wear a 14. One minor gripe is my feet don't seem to be centered in the shoe (feet seem to want to roll inward). This is very minor and could be the shape of my foot; I've noticed the same thing with the Elios model, but not with any other brand of shoe. The thin removable insole could be better, but I can replace that. If you have a really wide foot, this may not be the shoe for you. The Exit series appears to be a well made shoe for the money. Anyway just thought I'd kick off the reviews for this one. Good luck! | |

| This is the first review that I've felt compelled to do, BUT, this shoe is worth it! Although this isn't the marketed intent for this shoe, my husband is a carpenter who is VERY hard on his footwear. This is his second pair of Solomon Exit Aero shoes. His first pair lasted a full year being worn practically every day all day. They allow his feet to breathe, are comfortable, and most of all- held together. We were very happy to find another pair and look forward to another year! | |

| I agree that these do run small! Some of the reviews seemed to counter that so I just went with my regular size 9. I had to exchange for a 10. Now they\'re comfy and the width feels right. I could see the need for a more snug fit for technical hiking where someone might want their heel to feel very locked in, but for casual wear and comfort I would size up. The Exit Aeros are well made and appear extremely durable. They are very light and breathable. | |

| Great fit and NO break-in period. The first time I put these on, they felt great! They are great for moderate hiking and very casual to wear around the city. It keeps my feet cool in the summer and warm in the winter, no problem with sweaty feet and wet socks - great ventilation. They look good on any pants - jeans to chinos. One thing though, the "loop" in the back is unnecessary, cutting it off works. | |

| I bought these shoes from Zappos after trying them at a local sporting goods store. The store didnt have the correct size so I ordered them from Zappos. I couldn't be happier with the shoes or the service I received. I am a nature photographer and wanted a shoe that was light and supportive to carry my equipment all day on rough trails. The shoes are very comfortable and are cut right for my narrow feet. | |

| A perfect pair for hot environment - The Salomon's trade mark, I like the way they are so airy and breathable. For me, they are perfect if I am hot. All I have to do is air out my feet in the air stream at 80 to 90 kts, 1500 feet above the ground. Aha... thank God. The shoe provides good walking protection in and out of the helicopter. | |

| Good looking shoe that runs narrow and short. I normally wear 12 M or 11.5 EE in shoes. I'm now trying a 13 M in the Exit Aero, after trying 12 and 12.5 M. If I can find the right fit, this will be a great walking and light hiking shoe. Salomon, please make this in a wider with. As usual, Zappos service is the best! | |

| Super workmanship by Salomon and very comfortable. They are narrow for a D which is perfect for me, but others may find them snug. They also seem very true to length, so if you are on the top end of you size a half size up might be a good idea. A great shoe for the price, and once again Zappos' service was flawless. | |

| Great - This shoe fits like how a shoe should feel. Considering that my feet are just smaller than a size 13 and just over a 12, the 12.5 option was the best thing, most shoes don't even offer a size as such. I have had nothing, but a good experience with the shoes so far. The 1 year warranty is a definite PLUS! | |

| Solomons are the most durable hiking boots I've purchased. I have another pair I've been wearing for two years and all the seams and stitches are still holding through abusive conditions. Sometimes I wear 10.5, but 10 is my size for Solomons. They are the way to go for hiking boots. | |

| Update to previous review. After wearing a while I realize I made a mistake in writing 1st review so soon. While this is a very handsome, well made shoe, for me it is very uncomfortable in the arch support. Unless you have a specific arch shape I don't see how many will find this shoe very comfortable. For me the arch is too firm, a little too high and set too far back in the shoe. After an hour of wear it becomes very irritating. Also it feels like my foot wants to gravitate too far to the inside (instep) of the shoe which adds to the discomfort. I let the attractiveness and relative snug fit (which is rare for me) fool me. I've experimented with different insoles but I have my doubts these shoes will be a keeper. So close yet so far, Salomon. It could be that many will have better luck than I. It is a nice looking shoe. | |

Salomon Exit Aero Review | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The Exit Aero by Salomon is best for light hiking on smooth trails. I like that the shoe is low to the ground but a better arch support is needed. The inside foot pad is just a thin rubber insole without any real contour to cup your heel. My biggest beef with the shoe is that I'm alway a 10.5. However, this is the first shoe that I've had to buy in a size 11 so they're a little on the big side. I put some regular thin Dr. Scholl type inserts and now they fit much better. | |

| Disappointing - I bought these shoes because they looked good, and were reasonably priced...but, they seem to be made rather cheaply. The stitching on the inside of the shoe is exposed, which irritated my foot to no end...and the arch is really weird...stay away from this shoe. | |
