Berg's Ski Shop

The Special II is proof that a performance board can raise your confidence every time you ride . Our lightest weight core and GHOST technology offer a lightweight, stable artillery for anything that gets in your path.
On all types of terrain, this board works well: lively and dynamic, it gives you the feeling you can adapt to anything. This board's versatility is exceptional allowing you to be at ease on slopes as well as in parks or backcountry like you could never imagine. Light and aggressive, it is THE board that makes its own path. The unique 3D core profiling, signature of the ERA concept, lets you be playful at lower speeds thanks to a softer torsion and the snappy flex holds down when you open it up. The drive precision of the thinwalls and the speed of the 4000 Electra Gallium base will give you control and speed you need for whatever you go for, be it the Legendary Banked Slalom course or the big line in the local park
Ryan says:The best of everything. Solid at speed and forgiving when learning that new spin-trick. A consistent favorite of mine.
Features:
  • CONSTRUCTION: Ghost Carbon XY Stringers- Carbon stringers are sewn into a traix layer for pop and stability at speed, and easy maneuverability when you're keeping it mellow.
  • CORE: Ghost LIght Core- Milled isocore foam replaces regular wood strips in strategic areas to reduce core density, while maintaining full board strength
  • BASE QUALITY: P-TEX 4000 Electra Gallium
  • Directional Twin
  • Medium Stone Finish
  • Edge & Base Bevel
  • ITC Reinforcement
  • Rubber Rails- Soft 2mm rubber cuddles up to our stainless steel edges to keep your ride smooth and chatter free

Salomon created the Special Snowboard for those who ride every corner of the mountain. With the ERA 3-D core profile Salomon cut out some of the core under your bindings to lower weight and add pop for jibbing, and to maintain a snappy flex to hold the board down when you open up the throttle. This directional twin board's über-fast sintered 4000 base boosts backcountry gaps while the quadratic side cut gives you the quickness to dodge the trees. Burly sidewall construction provides extra durability on freestyle terrain.

Dogfunk

Traditional camber continues to rear its tough-ass, power-infused head in the form of Salomon’s Special II Snowboard. Freeriders kill it on this camber board thanks to the consistent edge-hold on knee-knocking vertical and powerful pop off the cliffs. Salomon made this all-mountain assault vehicle lighter than ever too.

Sweet Stick!

Rating:*****
I have had Salomon boards since day 1 and I think they make the best boards out there. There are lots of great boards out there but Salomon produced a board full of technology and if you wait long enough(now) you can get them for virtually half price. Sure you can get a Burton and they make great boards too, but so much of that is the name you pay for. Get a Salomon great ride, durable board with the best base in the business. Ride on.

Special is special

Rating:*****
The salomon special 156 is truly 2 boards in one. I can carve up the mountain or play in the park. It is soft and flexible when I'm in freestyle mode or I can cruise and carve with no loss of stability at speed and it holds an edge. With my Relay Pro bindings from Dogfunk, what a great combo for whatever type of riding you want to do!
