Scarpa’s T1 boots have a fourth buckle, dual-density, overlay cuff, and a stiffer torsion bar for the power needed to drive fat skis through powder. A reduced rocker sole profile produces the nimbleness you need for quick turns and a thermo-molded, Intuition Precision liner provides a sweet out-of-the-box fit.

Great boots for the down

I normally wear a size 10 shoe, and bought these in a 26. I really had to have the liners blown out big time. I had it done at REI, but then went to a small shop to really get it fitted right. The liners are warm, and doubled as slippers on a winter time bivy. These boots work alright for the uphill, but I wouldn't want to tour in them. The weight and stiffness is a bit much for that. They are phenomenal for the down though. I have used them on the east coast during some icy conditions, and I have used them in the pacific northwest in some heavy snow. The fit overall is pretty good, and is a normal width boot. Overall I rate these boots very highly for what they are. A great in bounds boot, as well as a good performing boot for day trips in the backcountry. Now go get a pair!

Great for Downhill

Have to agree with the previous reviewer, the T1 is a bomber downhill boot but the more aggressive forward lean of the boot is quite evident even in "tour mode". This forward stance made touring with them difficult for me. I will be going back to my old T2s for touring but these are great for area skiing.

gold standard

though not as comfortable as my broken in t2's these provide much more control and stability.

Negative Reviews:

Scarpa's mondo sizing

The Scarpa sizing guide that is printed on the packing box is one half mondo size [1/2 cm] smaller than the size guides that I found at [@] The boots were much too tight-numbingly so.
