The ultimate dry bag

Rating:*****

This is a huge but great dry bag. It is a real dry bag, and will keep your gear dry if your boat overturns or the skies open up. But what really sets this apart (besides how large it is) is the fact that not only does it have shoulder straps, but it has a hip belt. If you have a long hike to your put-in, the hip belt is a life-saver (carrying a heavy load for any distance using just shoulder straps--or worse, a duffle with a single strap--is murder on the back). This bag really feels like a backpack, and is adjustable enough to allow you to get a comfortable fit on your hike. True, it is not as comfortable as a well-made backpack (it has no frame, and the hip belt has only a little padding), but it is certainly more comfortable than any other dry bag I have tried. And this bag is huge! Space is never an issue (the bigger issue is how much weight you can carry).

It is true that not everyone needs a dry bag with all these features (and this size). But if you need a true dry bag that you can easily hike with (you know who you are), this bag would be hard to beat.
