| Although I never have and never will flip my kayak :-) I bought this set to please my wife. All kidding aside this is a great set that has everything you need. The float has plenty of volume even for a 220 lbs paddler like me, the pump works well and the whistle can be heard from a long distance away. So even though you will certainly never flip either, I recommend you get this kit. | |

| Thankfully I haven't needed this in a serious situation. However I have used it plenty of times in practicing my capsizing/re-entry techniques and it works great. The water pump is a little bulky, but I just keep it on my deck rigging. The paddle float works great, I keep the whistle attached to my PFD and I use the mesh bag for everything. All around great purchase. | |

Pump sticks after a few uses | |

| I have noticed as others have noted in reviews for the pump itself that the pump does begin to stick after a few uses. I used the pump after practicing self rescue techniques and used also as a water gun(worked great). But, after all that, I noticed that it doesn't glide as well as it used to. Everything else works flawless. I also like the pouch the kit came with. I would suggest to "Seattle Sports" perhaps make the pump either serviceable or figure out why the thing sticks after a few uses. Would be a very bad thing to run into such a "safety" issue in the ocean out in the middle of nowhere. Don't you think? | |

| THe first day out teaching my son to self rescue using the paddle float it had a hole in after the third or fourth use. Never touched land just hole from going on and off the paddle. | |
