If you're still using your old frame pump, welcome to the twenty-first century, and the Serfas AP-01 Air Pod CO2 inflator. The AP-01 uses readily-available 12-gram threadless or 12- and 16-gram threaded CO2 cartridges, fits both Presta and Schraeder valve stems, and inflates a 26-inch mountain bike tire or 700C road tire in just seconds. The trigger grip makes controlling inflation easy, even when you're shaking from a near-faceplant.

This is the way to go

Rating:****

The first time I used this it leaked a bit of air after the cartridge was punctured. I'm going to give Serfas the benefit of doubt and assume it was a fluke because it hasn't happened again. It would be nice to have a pressure gauge, but once you get a feel for what your tires should feel like, that's really not an issue.

IMHO, this style that doesn't require a threaded cartridge is the way to go. You can get them for way cheaper. Just make sure they are 12g if they are not threaded or they won't fit. You still have the option of using either size if the cartridge is threaded, so you're options are really open with this tool.

Oh, and if you're using 12g cartridges, you'll definitely want to take 2 on the trail at all times as 1 will barely fill 1 tire, depending on your tires.

good inflator

Rating:*****

love this pump, just replaced a it (with the same one) after it grew legs and walked away after a competition... grrrr... the cage makes it easy to grip and it locks in solid. i personally like that its a little bigger as i have a habit of dropping smaller pumps it uses 12 or 16 gram threadless or threaded which means you dont have to worry as much about having the right co2 cartridge. buy it. you'll like it. just watch for jealous riders with sticky fingers

Just what I needed

Rating:****

My only complaint is that it is a little bit big compared to other similar pumps I have had. Other than that, it was just what I needed. Fits both schrader and presta, locks securely on the tire stem, and I can control with greater precision how the air dispenses.

Very handy in a bind!

Rating:****

This item saves the weight of a pump, and also the wait of having to pump up your tire. It's nice and versatile, compatible with both 12 and 16 gram threaded or non-threaded co2 cartridges.
