The Di2 FD-7970 Front Derailleur takes the roll of a derailleur, but has been promoted to monitor the system as a whole and make necessary adjustments so you don’t have to. An integrated ultra-compact CPU ensures that shifting is perfect for front and rear derailleurs individually. But that’s not the end of its duties. The CPU adjusts the front derailleur, by detecting the position of each derailleur, to track the chain requiring zero manual trim. This means no more time spent trying to eliminate chain rub and, most importantly, missed shifts by manually adjusting trim. To further enhance the performance of Di2, the front derailleur performs the inward shift from the big ring in two parts, effectively eliminating dropped chains. The Di2 Front derailleur has specific duties to perform that no other derailleur in history has done – all for the ease and enjoyment of high performance road riding.
