Big Bad Wolf can't blow this one down!
We recently ordered a bunch of SD Zolo 2 tents for our boy scout troop and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and design. Our scouts can abuse equipment like no one else and yet these tents held strong. This tent provdes a very spacious interior, not just in terms of floor area, but also headroom due to the steep wall design. In moderate wind gusts of about 40 MPH, we had no issues with structural integrity (just be sure to use the supplied guy lines). As for rain, our troop backpacking events are almost always guaranteed to have an abundance of wet weather. On one outing, one of our scouts awoke to find his tent pitched in about an inch of water. These tents were bone dry on the inside! Even in a driving rainstrom, no water penetrated the tent fly. At about 5.5 lbs, this tent is slightly heavy to be considered a true backpacking tent (by about a pound or so), but the extra weight material definitely feels more substantial than my 2.5 lb model, which is a huge benefit especially if you are hard on equipment.
