Wonderful bottle...however don't drop it

Rating:****
A number of months ago I purchased my first Sigg. It's an amazing alternative to the Nalgene if you're concerned about chemical properties of the bottle...

...however I've switched back to using my original Nalgene.

The Sigg is far from indestructible. A fall from the top of your car's trunk will result in a very unpleasant dent. I've have dropped bottles before, being use to Nalgene, and have never had issues until I started using a Sigg. If you want one, baby it a lot...

As for thermal resistance...there is none. If you put ice cold liquid in it, and you're in a blizzard, it will remain cold. If you plan on filling it with ice water and bring it to the beach, you might as well bring tea bags along. Aluminum is the same material used in heat rejection technology due to its excellent heat transport properties...same applies to these bottles.

Bottom line, it's a great bottle if there's no chance of abusing it...and you're not worried about the liquid in it shifting to ambient temperatures...

pshh! its great!

this is an amazing bottle it is so strong. it droppped it twety feet onto rocks and all i got was a tiny dent, don't worry about the dents they make you look more hard core! also now they have so many more color options and spout types so you can customize the bottle to all your needs, i have the "earth" 32oz with a black screw top. the only problem is that proper cleaning is dificult, but i solved this problem easily with a two dollar toilet bowl brush from the hard ware store (instead of buying the [$] SIGG version, their practically the same thing). this bottle is stylish, hard core and an overall great product! buy it!!!!

Useful and attractive

I got my first one a few years back, looking for a plastic bottle replacement. When I lost mine at D/FW airport, I knew I had to buy another one.
If you are clutzy like me, you'll probably drop your bottle. Thankfully, it doesn't affect the bottle's inner coating negatively. However, if you want to avoid that dented appearance, get a cheap carabiner to avoid those nasty spills.

Better tasting than drinking "plastic"

Rating:*****
I use one of these at work all the time and get alot of comments. I refill constantly from the cold filtered faucets. It cleans well with baking soda, vinegar & a bottle brush-that's all that is needed to keep it clean. I gave these as present for Christmas since some are avid golfer and hunters. (It also temporarily holds liquor too-just a FYI).

great alternative to Nalgene

Rating:****
I love my new Sigg waterbottle. It is durable and keeps my water cold in the AZ heat. I also like how my water tastes like water, even days later. It's only downfall is that the lid can be annoying to unscrew... it's kind of awkward. I think I'm going to try the sport cap and see if I like that better.

Not a plastic bottle and proud of it!

Rating:*****
I am completely satisfied with these bottles and recommend them to everyone that will listen! I love the new ECO Logical designs. Plus, if you fill them with ice and water, the drinking seems very cold...even to the extent of your lips sticking to the rim, like your tounge to an icy flag pole. Can't beat it!

Great bottle

Good bottle. Keeps water cool for awile. Unfortunatly the bottle dents easily. I got dented when it was in my suitcase on the plane. Was even sandwiched amongst clothes.

Good Nalgene bottle alternative

Rating:***
When I got my 2 Sigg bottles, I was so happy with them (no after taste & safer than the Nalgene bottles I was previously using, sleek design, cool colors), but I soon discovered that despite their aluminum composition (which would seem to be somwhat durable), they show every bump and toss! I was used to throwing my Nalgene all around: in my car, my gym bag, while I was working out, and everyday use, so I assumed I could treat these bottles the same way...NO! I have had my bottles for 4 months and they look like I have had them for years! They dent SO easily! Not long after I had them, I accidently hit one against my wooden desk after taking a sip (not too hard either), and it has a massive deep dent in it. Over the past four months, they have accumulated numerous dents (which I do not remember hitting against anything; just overall wear and tear I suppose). I would hate to imagine what would happen if I took them hiking and dropped one!!

So overall, I do enjoy having them as water bottles, but they are not too durable. I am sure I can use them for another year or two, but I can't imagine what they will look like then!! (I am getting embarassed carrying them around now!)

Metal, not plastic

Rating:***
This is THE new cool water bottle. You can tell that's true, because everyone has one now, and they cost [$]... The fact that Nalgene stopped using BPA (which only MAYBE was dangerous in the first place) is irrelevant. Their name is tarnished forever, and everyone is convinced they are poison to use now. Here are the basics of the SIGG: It's metal (aluminum), not plastic. That's it. The implications of that, are that it is more dent-prone, and much less able to retain temperature. In fact, as a result of the highly conductive aluminum construction, Siggs are just about the best thing you can possibly use to NOT retain temperature. The only thing that would bring your drink to room temperature faster than a Sigg would be an all-copper water bottle. Maybe that fad will catch on in a few years? The final proof that Sigg is THE cool bottle to have now? Read these reviews. There are so many people anxious to mindlessly proclaim how great these things are, that a good many people went ahead and checked the "retains temperature well," box in their review. Presumably, they love their fashionable bottles so much, they want to say everything about them is the best? THAT'S THE OPPOSITE OF TRUE! :)

Buy a Laken instead

Rating:***
I loved this bottle at first but the lid became irritating really quickly. I feel like i'm constantly screwing/un-screwing the lid. Also, if you put anything else in the bottle, it leaves a strange metal after taste (though the guy at the store denies that this is really happening).

I'd recommend this but I LOVE my Laken bottle!!!! Def check it out!!!!
