If you like the style, get 'em.

I dug around online, and this is the cheapest you can get these headphones (the exception being the ugly tiger stripe ones, which I found for 30) with no shipping (as long as you buy something else for >$10). They actually sound pretty great, especially with bass-heavy music. Also, when you take 'em off and turn the volume all the way up they actually sound really good... like better than my laptop's speakers. They're a tiny bit uncomfortable if you wear them for a long time, but it hasn't been a problem for me, though I have heard other people complain hard about the comfort issue. If you like the style, I'd pick them up. If you think they look ugly, you can find ones with the same sound quality that are a little more comfortable for the same price.

good for the money | |

One thing to consider is that skull candy was created to fill a nitch market that generally likes hip-hop, rap, and small budgets. Sound quality is good but a lot can be disguised with smoke and mirrors. All their gear looks great and sounds good, but unless you are willing to shell out a hundo or more don't expect hi end Ultrasone quality, it is really impossible to build high quality electronics with cheap materials. Don't forget that skullcandy has a lifetime warranty that is very good. In short: good sound quality great looks, no company can make hi-def and sell it for under $100 so keep that in mind when buying personal audio gear from anyone.

Hesh Kicks Ass!! | |

I bought the striped phones about a year ago and they've been completely worth the money. The sound quality is awesome, and they do a decent job in canceling surrounding noise. Also, they're fckn durable. I mean, these phones have made it out alive from each and every snowboard sesh i've taken them through, and on occasion have made it off the mountain in better condition than me. Only complaint was the extension cable. Mine broke about a month ago and skullcandy didn't do much in supporting my quest for a new one...i still haven't replaced it... =/ All in all, awesome set of phones and definitely at a good price.

Love it, but... | |

Alright, first off, the sound quality is amazing, and the bass gets the job done. They go extremely loud, cancel noise well, and the in line volume is really nice for snowboarding. I have broken one pair so far, but that was from my brother throwing them against a wall. My only complaint is that if you extend the headphones too much and they bend a little too much, the edges of the plastic might crack, and break if you aren't careful. they still work fine, but I have to be careful not to extend them past a certain point.

Sounds Great!!!! looks bad....

Sound is great, but I dont like the small hard to feel dial for volume. I prefer slide style controls. Also I got the black and white cause the pic showed it looking grey, but its really black and BRIGHT white. Ill post a pic to show you. I dont really like the color, but now right after I bought it, I see dogfunk got a shipment of actual grey, AND some sweet brown ones. Wish I would have waited a few weeks.... SIGH.... :( I posted a pic under the other Hesh listing.

I have to say that after buying these, I am stoked on Skullcandy. I originally was afraid that I would be sacrificing style for quality, but I am impressed with the sound quality. I compared them to my brother in law's Sennheiser and they held their own and being a music junkie, that impressed me greatly. I bought the green and black ones and the kids that I take riding on a nightly basis all ask if they can borrow em... "nah brah, you gots to get your own."

A Great Buy | |

I use these on the bus every morning and even with the engine noises and kids yelling all I can hear is my music. Its like a concert strapped to your head with these on. They get LOUD and have really high quality. Something you might want to look out for is that these things are big, they stick out like three inches from your head. I don't really care about the size though, the amazing bass and sound quality make these 5 stars.

Great headphones | |

I bought these a month and a half ago and love them. I use them everyday while at work to cut down on the noise around me. They have a great sound quality if you don't blast it too loud and keep out the outside noise extremely well. They're really comfortable once you figure out what length you need the band at. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good quality headphone that isn't too expensive.

If you want some niceass bass,,,,,, PLEASE DON'T GET THESE!!!!!!
| Rating: | ![]() |
Im a bass junkie, and I was thinking abt getting either the scullcrusher or the GI's. Then I found out abt these hesh headphones. I started reading the reviews and found all of them had 3 common pros abt the hesh. they all say that the hesh has great sound quality, the looks are very sick and cool, and that these headphones have very nice bass. there was even one guy that said in his reveiw that these are better than his friends skullcrushers. I can't agree more abt the first two coments. it dos have nice sound quality and these do look tight. BUT the bass on these are TERRIBLE!!! overall these headphones are great, but I gave it a 2 out of 5 based on the bass quality. if ur lookin for some headbanggin crazyass bass, don't get these. get da crushers. I bought the hesh at bestbuy but I'm returning it and I'm plannin to get da skullcrushers.

So, ordered these off of Whiskey Militia. They came and I was psyched...until I tried them 5 minutes later and found that they were already busted! leavin' me with one ear filled with sweet sweet tunes, and the other...empty. I'm sure they're great when they're not busted, but I think they break way too easily.

These headphones look good but that is about all that is good. The sound is quality is very poor, bass washes out on most songs. and vocals sound like they are being sung in a can.

I like Scullcandy headphones. Overall they are descent. They are overpriced on the retail level for what they are, but if you get them off of one of the many backcountry outlet/deal sites you can score a stylin' set of headphones that will make your hipster friends think that you are the bees knees.

Look Great, Muddy Sound
| Rating: | ![]() |
Meh. If you want to listen to anything other than New Boyz, you may want to keep looking. All you're gonna get is some muddy bass sounds, a bit of mid, and you can kiss hi's goodbye. After a half-day in the work cube, my ears and head hurt from pressure points. They do look awesome though. If you like your headphones blasting while they sit like a necklace on your shoulders...these are it! Catch 'em on sale for the style points.

Break Easily | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
The local Boathouse has had 6 of these returned because they have cracked/broken at the mid point between the speaker and the center of the headwrap. The cord length is good. I like it's length better than the SK PROs. My SK PROs are a lot more durable. I've had mine stepped on twice, they've been sat on countless times. They're invincible :P. Anyways, just thought the durability of these should come into question.

Decent sound, but | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I bought a pair of these a few years back. The padding over the speakers is completely round and my ears don't fit in them. The sound is ok and expected for the price but unless you have small ears, I wouldn't buy these. After wearing them for 20 minutes it starts getting a bit uncomfortable. Too bad they don't come with an alternative padding option.
