I've had this helmet for about 8 weeks and use it 6 days a weeks for work and play on the hill.
It's undeniably one of the top helmets with well thought out design and quality construction.
The only issue I have with it is the sizing. I bought a large but have found I have to dial the boa thing down to the smallest setting. This is fine and all but I feel a bit like an orange on a toothpick.(When I tried it on in the shop I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't spend as much time figuring out the best size as perhaps I should.)
To satisfy my own curiosity I went back to the shop and tried a medium. It was lower profile in look and feel but I had to dial it to the largest setting. Which is fine but doesn't allow for the hood of my base layer when it gets really cold.
The point of this boring story is that I find it odd that there is apparently no cross over in the sizing. I thought this problem was somewhat unique to someone who had the unfortunate luck of having a head shaped like mine, but the guy in the shop said he owns a small and finds it a little too tight but the medium is too big.
'sigh'.. first world problems.
I've only used this for about a dozen days or so but I'm already enamored with this helmet. At first I thought that I had bought a size too small (Med.) But thanks to the boa adjustments, I was able to dial in the exact sizing that I wanted. Also, the dual vent system is awesome! Keeps my head warm and dry during storms and allows me to cool off on the warm, sunny days. I wont be putting any beanies or layers beneath this helmet (except maybe a buff or thin gaiter) anytime soon tho. Definitely a snug fit. Size up if you're unsure
I use these in conjunction with the Smith Knowledge OTG goggles (OTG Goggles are notoriously bulky) and they fit together like a charm, no major gaps or uncomfortable smushing against my face. The chin strap is nice and soft and the option to zip in headphones is superb. Go to daily helmet for sure.
What a perfect helmet. I added the skullcandy audio package and matched it with the Smith I/O goggles (blackout lens). I get lots of comments and the helmet is very light and the audio sounds amazing. I also like the improved vents. This was an upgrade from my variant helmet I used for the last 5 years. I have no complaints at all. Love the Smith system.
I love this helmet, a great low profile fit, super comfortable, the venting is extremely adjustable and the fit is spot on. I paired it with the Julbo Orbiter goggles and had no fogging issues at all, and even on a powder day with some hiking at Whistler. It is one of the pricier helmets out there, but well worth the money.
This is a great helmet. Warm when closed, cool when the vents are open. The earpieces are really warm, and I've never had to use anything under the helmet to keep warm. I don't love the goggle loop in back, but I can live with it. Best ski helmet I've ever had.
This was a gift for my brother in law, who spents all his free time hitting the slopes. Awesome buy, he loves the helmet, the color (impossibly black), the features...it's light, comfortable, and the dua vent system keeps him warm and dry.
I have avoided wearing a helmet and just started this year. Not only does this protect but it keeps you warm or ventilated when necessary and is so light you honestly don't even know it is on your head.
Great helmet. Low profile, but stylish, good venting, fits with goggles, light, good adjustment system. Could be a little more comfortable, but I wear it with a balaclava most of the time which makes it more comfortable on your forehead.
I got rid of my Variant and now use this. Much better helmet. Lighter. Fits better and I think it looks lower profile. Works great with my IO's
Good fit with good adjustments. Air vents are nice. I have had some trouble with one of the ear pieces staying in but other than that great helmet.
