It's the little things that bring comfort

I sent a set to my wife who's currently deployed to OIF and she loves it. Trust me, it gets really old eating in the field and/or chow hall with cheap plastic crap (she's Navy deployed with an Army unit, I'm Marine Corps). And for all the gram-counting uber-light weenies: suck it up and enjoy the "civilized" feeling of eating with normal utensils. Promise we won't tell anyone your pack weighs an extra 1.8 oz, and you're smoking crack if you think you'll even notice the difference. I can still get by with just a trusty Ti/Lexan spoon or spork when hiking, but c'mon... this ridiculously light and sturdy set can make almost any backcountry meal seem like you're eating at the dinner table instead of out of your lap.

Great cutlery | |

There are two reasons to buy this Snow Peak titanium set over the more reasonably priced competition: 1) the case and 2) the knife. The kit is held together by a nylon case, rather than a clip, and while this case adds to the weight it also protects items in your pack from getting scratched and skewered by your cutlery. Also, the knife is not serrated so it won't scratch up your plates and cookware so badly, but it still cuts well. I wish the bowl of the spoon was a little bit deeper to hold more soup, but other than that this set is perfect.

nice to have | |

We got two sets for camping. The pieces are sturdier and safer to cook with than the compostable utensils that we used to bring along. The knives cut through steak without a problem. The nylon sleeves are neat and functional, but I've docked a star because we received ugly colors.

For eating i use Lexan fork and spoon to don't scratch Teflon coating. This one I carry in my car when I am on a road trip and as extra silverware for my girlfriend. It is just the right size, lightweight, and the smart pouch keeps it together

Great Gear! | |

Bought these because I was tired of having to use a plastic spoon/fork in the field. This beats plastic hands down, very light and compact.

Each utensil works very well, a lot better than the plastic trash they put out in the company cafeteria! Go Green - use the same utensils at work and in the Back Country! Avoid piling plastic trash in the landfills!

This is a great silverware set. There lightweight and it comes with a nice case to keep them in. The case also helps keep them from damaging anything in your pack.

I love this set. The nylon pouch is heavier than the pieces together! Plus, you can even cut stuff with the knife. A great buy for light and fast junkies.
