| In selecting this treadmill I used Consumer Reports ratings, went to [@] and read user reviews (hundreds), and I did in-store trials where ever I could. All of this led me to this product.[...]There have been zero problems with the F85 (which is why I did my due diligence).Use of the treadmill - Pros - The F85 belt length and width is as good as it gets. Whether walking or running the surface absorbs much of the shock I would normally get when running outdoors. The speed toggle switch on the right and incline toggle switch on the left are an excellent addition. The digital readouts on the panel are brightly lit and easy to read. I can't think of any information I would want that isn't displayed including speed, incline, time of use, calories burned, distance traveled, heart rate, and much more. The treadmill is heavy which I translate into it is extremely sturdy and does not bounce, move, vibrate, or anything else I can think of to add (I weighh 210 lbs and both walk and run). I like to jog and occasionally run and the F85 easily accomodates both with a good motor and a good surface. Raising the F85 to store it vertically is an easy task. My 14 yr old daughter can do it. Lowering it is equally easy. The F85 has pumps installed that lower the treadmill at a preset speed - just pull it down and let go - it settles gently to the floor. The F85 comes with speakers and a jack to plug into my iPod. I like music when I work out. The speakers are good but not excellent. Excellent would be Polks or Bose or something like that. these are more like car speakers. The F85 is a very attractive treadmill for in-home and in a room is aesthetically pleasing to look at.Cons - The dual fans installed are totally useless. I put an industrial fan in the room to keep me cool. The handrail controls for speed and incline are great but I would like the handrails to extend another 10-12 inches back. That is a deficit but not a huge one. Summary - If I had it to do over I would definitely buy the F85 [...]everything went smooth as glass. The F85 is a super treadmill. | |

A Great Buy! | |

| Me and my wife, did a couple of days of online research, before we ended up buying the Sole F85. In all the test we came accross, the Sole brand of treadmills, ranked among the top five, and often, was indeed ranked as number 1, which was a deciding factor in getting this unit, which is not among the cheapest ones, with the price tag, just shy of $2000.00. We have now used this treadmill for a little more than a month, and between me and my wife, we are clocking around two hours on it every day. So far it has performed flawlessly, it's a sturdy, well buildt machine, which in my view rivals the more expensive ones you find in most gyms. To be a fold up/down unit, it's big, so make sure that you have ample floor space, where you are planning to "park it," you can move it, but the size of it can make it a little hard, especially if it is placed on a carpeted floor. The belt moves at all speeds, without any "hick ups," and the engine is very quiet. The display is easy to use, and we loved the heart rate monitor that came with the unit, a nice plus. The only minus I have to say about it, is the two fans on the front panel. To say at least, they are weak, if they could blow out a lit match, I would be surprised. You barely feel anything when they are on, and there is only one speed setting for them. | |

Excellent Product | |

| Have had this treadmill since Jan. 09 and love it. I am a bigger person, 6'1 and 215 lbs. I exercise alot and needed something that would be able to handle my weight and frequent use. This treadmill is as good as any "expensive" treadmill I ever used in a gym. It does not have all of the fancy controls that a $5000 plus machine would have, but it has the most important ones that you will need. The handle is great. Walking or running are smooth. Like any treadmill you buy, it is very heavy and not the easiest to setup if you are taking it up steps, but overall, it is easy to setup. I did alot of research because this is not cheap to buy, but you have to look at your health as an investment and for under $2000, it is a steal in my mind. I am not using it as much now due to warmer weather outside, but during the cold season, this is a wonderful machine to have. Like any piece of exercise equipment, it is only as good as the times you use it. This is a machine that if used correctly and frequently will make huge gains in your overall fitness and health levels. Highly recommend if you are looking for something under $2000. [...] | |

Over 600 miles and still going strong! | |

| I use this treadmill by walking 3-4 miles everyday. The only issue I have is using the hand sensors that monitor the heart rate and hand rails. The hand senors are to low and to far forward and makes it dificult to walk and hold on to. You end up leaning forward at an uncomfortable angle and your feet will keep kicking the motor housing. Since the treadmill comes with a remote heart sensor, this isn't an issue for me. I do wish the side rails were angled back further and a little higher... at 10-15 degrees, it is hard to hold on to as they are to low and I'm of average height... 5'9". | |

| After doing a ton of research on treadmills for months, this treadmill had everything I wanted. The number one feature which led me to this treadmill is the hand controls on the rails to increase and decrease speed and incline. You do not see a lot of treadmills with this feature. I am the kind of person that gets bored easily but not with this treadmill. The display is incredible and very well lit. Very quiet motor - I didn't even have to turn up the radio. Super smooth riding belt. I also love the 20X60 belt. What more can I say except it was money well spent! Sole - Thanks for the wonderful treadmill! | |
