I have always understood that Sorel was the way to go for winter boots. But, I have never owned a pair. When the winter got thick and my Red Wing work boots just weren't cutting it I took the plunge and decided to buy a pair of Sorel Conquest boots.

| A good boot - I bought these boots to shovel Minnesota snow in sub zero temperatures. They rock. My feet stay warm with an athletic sock, and with a woolen boot sock, I can stand outside all day long without any problem whatsoever. Two things though: 1) The Achilles adjustment strap is a piece of fluff that does nothing. It may make the boots look cool, but it does nothing to adjust the fit and gets caught on your pants leg all the time. You'll need a decent pair of scissors and some heavy duty cutters to cut the plastic hardware off and rid yourself of this piece of fashion torment. 2) Another reviewer brought this up and he was correct. There is no loop on the back to pull the boot on with. Now, I've had these boots for over 4 years and have no good basis for complaint. But, the lack of this strap and my deeding to pull them on by the snow sleeve has caused the snow sleeve/boot lining seam to tear. Otherwise, I could easily see them being an 8-10 year boot. | |

| Great boots - Bought these for winter use and have not been disappointed. I took them up to BC, Canada and hiked, snow mobile, and snow shoe with them. My feet were very warm and completely dry the entire time. Even at 3 degrees Fahrenheit. I wore regular and thick socks with these and with the thick socks I was toasty warm, almost too warm. I treated mine with some sno-seal before I wore them, as I do with all my boots waterproof or not. I would have gave them 5 stars on comfort but on my left foot it rubbed in a tiny spot above the ankle. Not a big deal and I feel if they were broken in more it wouldnt have been a problem. Can be a bit tough to put on and take off, but you don't even need to lace them if just doing easy things outside. 100% satisfied with these boots. | |

| I got this jacket as I got more and more into running and needed something to keep me visible in the Maine winters. I opted for this instead of a dorky reflective jacket as this gives me a lot more visibility. The color is incredibly bright, and the jacket is very very reflective. The only downside which is pretty major is that it doesn't breathe!!!!! After I get back from a run, the layer between my base and the jacket is pretty damp, but the jacket itself is absolutely dripping. Not really sure why it's so bad about breathability if it's supposed to be a running jacket. Had I bought this at the outdoor goods store where I often shop, I would have been able to return this even after wearing. Long story short, good for visibility, very bad for moisture control. | |

Here in Michigan we've had an awesome winter so far, and I've had a good chance now to check out these boots. I just came in from slogging through over two feet of snow on the lake, half of that journey through 8" of water/slush underneath. Dry. I'd already taken them on a 6 mile trip through Bishop's Bog and it's "floating" walkway. Dry. And after a couple of hours of ice fishing today (19 degrees, w/c near 0), I can report they are warm as well. I'm usually not a review writer, but these boots deserve mention. Yes, they are made in China. True, the liners don't come out. But, even without any waterproofing at all my feet have stayed warm and dry through the worst this winter has had to offer. I am impressed.

| I've worn the boots (Sorel Conquest) twice now in snowy, 15 to 20F conditions and so far I'm impressed. One sock or two didn't make a difference in warmth although two socks were more comfortable. I especially like the overall stiffness of the boots - the main reason I bought them - because I'm going up and down ladders and need the support that stiffness provides so my feet don't get sore. The gator is a nice feature although the pullcord gets in the way of lacing up the boot a little. The boot is easy to put on and take off, and so far is everything I hoped it would be. Time is the real test though so I won't admit these are the best cold weather boots I ever had because I | |

| I ordered these boots just after Christmas and right before my birthday, gift to myself....because if you can't love yourself, who can you love? Anyway, it had been dumping snow on New England and I thought these boots would make a great replacement for my old different style Sorels that I wore out shoveling snow and snowmobiling, all around manly stuff you know. I hate to say that I haven't been able to test them out like I would like to have by this time. For some reason, the weather turned and it has been unseasonably warm melting most of the snow away. So, I have been wearing these boots around the house and here and there. They work great as house shoes and I am sure will do even b | |

| I just got these a month ago (not at EMS) and have liked them since I first wore them outside. Great for tromping in snow. I first used them sitting on my lawn tractor/snowthrower (i.e. inactive use) and my feet were still warm after 2 hours. I bought them large to fit thick socks inside and I still get good traction inside (not much slop) because I can tighten them down. The inner-sole is plenty thick enough for warmth. The laces are a bit slow, but the built-in gaiter is quick and helpful. I have high arches so had to build in extra support but otherwise they're totally comfortable. I expect to wear these happily for many years. I haven't tried driving with them yet. | |

These boot didn't leak one time & my feet stayed warm & dry.

| I put these boots though every water test I could come across. I walked though water 6" deep and deep snow. Not once did they leak. My feet stayed warm & dry. The only complaint I have is that I'm a little bull legged & the right & left part of the boot by the buckle bites into my ankle, however the boots are still new & with time and a little padding I'm hoping this will soften. These boots were so good, my wife bought a set. She takes a womens 7 1/2, so we got her a mens size (7), just a little wide for a woman, however they work great. | |

I looked into these boots for work. I tromp thru snow and ice for a few miles and run up and down icy wood stairs for while working. I had to return them because they would not give me the support I was looking for. I could not tie the boots tight enough because of the overly bulky integrated wrap around tongue. yes this tongue will keep the snow out, but the boot needs all that room (extra fabric bulk) to get your foot in. I'm 5'10 170 lbs and I don't have odd legs so I would bet Im not the only one with this problem. I also felt awkward and goofy in them while walking. I bet they would be great for slipping into and shoveling your walk way or maybe ice fishing (if your not hiking) or how bout smoking a corn pipe on your porch? I choose not recommended for what "I" as looking for.

THEY LEAK! | |

| Don't believe the hype. I bought these boots, goaded by the ads that said "Warm & Dry". Within six weeks, they were leakng at the toes. Normal wear - just walking the dog. Sorel has a good name but the original company went out of business. All I can say is that Columbia has vamped up the ads, but the boots just aren't the same. PLUS the company I bought them from, Europe Bound on King Street in Toronto, wouldn't refund them. The manager basically said "there's nothing I can do". And so now I'm C$250 poorer, and I have frostbite. What a disappointment. | |

| These boots looked and felt great when I purchased them. Paid a decent amount of money so I felt that they can hold up to the price. It has the high rubber toe which I like and a comfortable top. A nice boot. Now the bad part. The seam that is stitched to the rubber and the leather on the toe section wears out fast, leading to leakage, then eventually tears wide open leading this boot useless. Final thoughts, very expensive first date then a big let down. Sorry Sorel. No ice fishing with you this winter. | |

| Tough getting into... These boots are impossible to get into. The upper portion of the boot is sewn to the tongue making it a very difficult task putting your feet into them, and the "gaiter" tucks down into the boot with your foot; catching your heel every time. I hope I don't need to get these boots on in a hurry for a fire or something some day. Once on your feet, these boots are great in snow, slush and ice. They are very hard to get your feet into. | |

Purchased these boots last year and was pleased with their warmth through the winter. When I purchased them they I was under the impression that they were waterproof. During the heart of the winter the boots were fine until the snow started to get wetter in the ladder part of the winter. Where the rubber meets with the leather the seams started to tear and there went the waterproof boot. I liked the boots I just dont like when products start to fall apart after a few months.

| This boot is not 40 degrees below 0, gets cold inside at 20 degrees with a heavy insulated sock. Buckels are useless and are breaking. Cannot tuck pants inside boot. Don't like lacing eyelets to top need open clips. Hard to get on & off. Insulation drawstring in bad spot should be on side. Exterior soles are very good. Inner soles are flat to foot. To much boot tongue for overall boot. | |

Very comfortable to walk in.Does not keep your feet warm below zero if you standing still. And anything below that you need to double up on socks.Make sure you buy size bigger than you normally wear.
