| I read about this product in a wilderness first aid book. I literally picked up a box on my way from Florida to Arizona to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim because I am very prone to blisters. Before I even made it to the Grand Canyon I had a nice size blister right on the edge of my right heal from a spontaneous day hike in the wrong shoes. I tried something else first. It did not work. I then re-drained the blister, applied 2nd skin, and held it in place with carefully placed strips of duct tape. The above kept me hiking without further pain, and 2 days later there was absolutely no evidence I ever had a blister. I am walking the Tampa Bay 3-Day to raise money for Breast Cancer research in 10/09 (60 miles total) and I have already stocked up on both this and the other 2nd skin product carried by REI. The only reason the product received a 4 instead of a 5 is because it really needed to be secured to my heal with duct tape to stay on. I think the other 2nd skin product comes with something to keep the soothing gel pads attached. | |

| Hiked two weeks in alaska in early july and got major blisters on my heels. These pads worked great! Although not written in the instructions, wiping the skin area with rubbing alcohol and allowing to dry before applying the pad significantly improves adhesion performance. One pad stayed on my foot for THREE days while hiking thru denali – we were impressed! | |
