The fabric nerds at Sport Science broke out the Bunsen burner and some sort of centrifuge-type thing and came up with the Men's Long-Sleeve T-Neck Jersey. As a poly/wool hybrid, this long-sleeve performance tee combines the moisture-wicking power of polyester with the temperature regulating and odor-fighting prowess of wool. The result: a super comfortable zip-neck shirt that's ideal for running, biking, hiking, and working out in cool weather.

I can't really agree with a few of the other things in the reviews I have read, but I can say that I certainly dig this thing, overall. On the negative side (for me anyway), (1)the neck comes up a bit too high, it's slightly awkward how it kinda flops around a bit (2)I haven't noticed the great odor-absorbing properties that some of the other reviewers have opined upon--that might be due to a placebo effect; it's really not any different in this department than my other polyester 1/4 zips or other baselayers. That being said, it is a light, fairly warm shirt that has a nice fit--well worth the $25-$30 pricetag. I am 6'1" and 185 lbs and the large is fairly tight on me, but not so much that is relegated to being a base layer only, as I wear it often as a casual shirt.

Worth what I paid | |

I wouldn't exactly say I find this shirt to be spectacular, so it gets four stars. I will say that it is true to fit and is comfortable and breathes pretty well. I needed a long sleeve, lightweight shirt like this and when I saw it on SAC I knew I had to have it for no other reasons than the thumb holes, 1/4 zip, and the collar comes up past the chin in case the wind kicks up, and of course the price...see four stars! Hopefully it will hold up through time as Ive never owned any Sports Science clothing.

soft and warm | |

Hubby prefers to rotate through performance tees as pajama tops, for odor-free multi-day use. This one's great for cold weather... very soft and lightweight (thinner than expected) but actually very warm. I love that it zips all the way up to keep his neck warm. The only problem is, he can't use the thumb-holes because they're too small and they don't stretch even a little bit. If they thumb-holes were bigger and comfortable to use (like the ones on my North Face Stratus hoodie), then this pullover would absolutely deserve five stars.

Great Shirt! | |

I couldn't be happier with the quality, meeting of expectations or look. I'm 6' 180 lbs. and the large fits great. I wore it out to the Linville Gorge in mid-April when it was a 50's and overcast and was very comfortable. It breathed well so I didn't overheat when on strenuous parts but was all I needed, with a TNF ruckus shirt underneath, around the campfire. Bought it on SAC but can justify full price and look forward to getting more of these shirts.

my boyfriend and I fight over this sweater

I've been really impressed with SportScience apparel. Until recently, I hadn't even heard of the brand. Actually, the sweater was my boyfriend's....until I stole it out of his closet. I love how comfy it is, have admittedly slept in it, and wear it as a campfire piece after a long day hiking. I've worn it on the trail too, but sometimes get a bit sweaty in it. I keep looking for the women's version to pop up on steapandcheap, but have yet to see it.

Warmer than expected | |

It is better made than I thought it would be and warmer too. I wear 44xl blazer, 6' 3", 225 and the 2xl is way long enough and not to wide in the body... should have gotten the xl for closer base layer fit. I like how high the collar comes up, helps keep in the warmth. When it's down, it looks nice enough to wear casually. Haven't noticed the odor fighting-ness of this yet. Probably because I never stink.

fantastic cut and fabric

the cut of this shirt is truly made for the athletic body. i'm 6'4" and have a 43" inch chest. the large fits like it was tailor made. this shirt will keep you warm without overheating and the thumb holes add value. don't ask me why, they're just awesome to have. i bought two and may buy two more.

Nice gift, bought more | |

I was given a couple SS27 men's longsleeve front zipper turtlenecks as a gift and liked them so much I purchased a few more. They are light, but warm enough and breathe well. The thumb holes are an interesting touch, but I could do w/o them.

The sleeves I always wanted
| Rating: | ![]() |
The sleeves have holes for the thumb that allow you to pull the shirt down and keep your hands warm on moderately cold days. Warm, durable and light. Worked magic in a 4 day hut trip in Sequoia National Park. Great buy
