Heavy Duty

Rating:*****
Not sure what a previous reviewer is commenting on being cheap sheet metal. This safe is heavy duty and has plenty of pins. Let's face it if they break into this safe they were ready to break into anything you had. If they take this safe at 800lbs. then they were ready for that too. This safe will serve the purpose of anyone wanting to spend this kind of money to protect their valueables. If this isn't enough then you need a hired guard, bank or spend tens of thousands and build a secure room. This safe will keep your guns protected from 99.9999% of thieves and probably any disaster that is temporary.

For my first gun safe, good choice

Rating:****
Just bought safe two weeks ago, good pricing, like the water protection and fire. Seems to be a good sturdy safe, with ease of combo changes and locking key for use if code is forgotten. Compared to like safes that only had 4 live bolts or less, I like the 7 live bolts and three dead bolt arrangement. Modified shelving myself to fit longer barrels and still have space for valuables. Included shelving is very adjustable. The only negetave thing I found was the palstic anchors. Red head anchors, epoxy anchors etc would be a much better and more secure anchoring system. The palstic anchors pull out and don't tighten properly.

Doing Great so far

Rating:*****
I just got this safe today but so far it has been good, I just about filled it up with my guns a few minutes ago and all it needs now is a little light and a dehumidifier which will come very soon. Waterproof thing is only for flooding, I figured it would be overall for the water damage from fires. Everything seems to good to go.

Negative Reviews:

Mediocre

Rating:**
I purchased this safe as a size upgrade from a smaller safe. I would say it is a decent value; I was looking for the most capacity for my $$. If you are expecting a Liberty, Cannon, etc, you should look elsewhere. I wasn't willing to spend $2k on a 30+ gun safe, and this was what I decided on. I think it is a very secure method of storing guns and valuables. However, there is dust all on the inside because the fireproofing materials are not sealed off from the interior. The carpet is not secured; it is loose and corners come up easily. The shelving works but don't expect them to be level. The steel exterior dents pretty easily. If I had ended up paying full retail, I'd probably be returning this safe. However, since I didn't and it is a a real pain to get in and out, I'll keep it and accept the significant flaws.

Not Too Bad For THE Money

Rating:***
I bought the 28 gun model. Its fine for the beginner or someone who just needs to secure gun and ammo from children. BUT its made of very thin sheet metal that needs to be a bit heaver. The safe is way too short. Don't plan on putting your goose shotgun in it. But I do like the color and the extra shelving it has. Lock mech. is very low grade. "But it is made in China" All in All it does the job. So i would recommend it to others for basic needs.

Poor Customer Service

Rating:***
I have had my safe for 3 months and the electronic part doesn't work anymore. It beeps on its own and will not unlock. Called stack-on customer service and they sent me a new part to install myself (hope you have an electric screwdriver). That didn't fix it! Called them back and now they want me to take apart all the electronic parts and mail them to them at my cost so they can try to diagnose the problem.

Good starter safe

Rating:***
Great starter safe. Good value for a gun safe. Great for those who want more security than a "gun cabinet" can provide from curious children. Overall pleased with purchase. Heavy, around 750 lbs., need two or more people to lift and move...(Whew! almost killed my back!) but can be loaded and transported in a full size p/u bed or small to mid-size trailer.
