Good buy not Great

Rating:****
This is a good but not superior quality product. I have an old pair of binoculars from[...], handed down from my father that have higher quality optics than these - at least they produce clearer images. Also these are so light it makes me wonder about the nature and quality of the materials. I guess I am old school when it comes to judging quality. On the other hand I will use these a lot because they are perfect for viewing birds and scenery from my back yard. I would recommend them to anyone for general "all purpose" binocular use.

Completely fulfilled my expectations

Rating:*****
My wife and I wanted a second pair of binoculars to take on a recent trip to Alaska, so I bought these. The size and optical power were perfect for our purpose. However, although I would not call these binoculars bulky, I would not recommend them to anyone who expects or intends to carry them in a pocket or purse. These binoculars were, for us, an outstanding value.

It was what I was looking for.

I can check on the horses, cows, geese, deer, and other wildlife from my back porch. With the binoculars it's as if I standing beside them. The best thing is not having to reset the focus and the clarity of the lens. I see very clear and sharp every time I bring them to my eyes.

Great Binocs

I have a similar pair of Steiner binoculars and have enjoyed them for many years. They sit in the bottom of my canoe when I am paddling with no worries of water contacting them. Great product and I anticipate many years out of this pair as well. I needed another pair for friends to use.

Great value.

I shopped online for a week looking for the best price on 8x30 Steiners. [$] I have never had a decent pair of binos before. The Steiners are great for what I use them for. They do have some problems with stray light at night so stargazers might want to look somewhere else.

great binos for the price

Rating:*****
I am a bow hunter and light weight binos are a must these are great. I have compared these to more expensive brands and these hold their own. In some cases these stieners take in more light. The thing I like most is the one time focus from 20 yds to infinity.

excellento

Rating:****
very very clear, great detail. not thrilled abould focusing in close - we have several bird feeders within 5 yards of my windows and this doesn't focus well that close. but they're so good i'll keep them anyway. out in the wild i wouldn't need anything for that close generally;

Great binoculars, great price

Rating:*****
Nice to find a great price on a pair of Steiners. Will use them allot more often due to their auto focus feature, which essentially means just pick them up and scan.

Great binocs for the price

Rating:****
You can really appreciate the quality of the lenses in low light/night conditions. Not the best or most expensive binoculars I own, but a great pair for the price

Very nice pair of Binocs

Rating:*****
Will use these for a variety of things - they are compact and yet give a nice bright view ... with AUTO FOCUS!

Negative Reviews:

Great images, however, not so auto-focus

Rating:**
I'm a little disapointed that these Predator 8x30s require refocussing from views between about 150 and 300 yds. My original 6x30 Steiners were perfect from 20 ft to infinity. Other than that they are just as good. I like the new style lense covers. I like the fold down rubber eye cups, but they seem to need to be folded down to see well. I really like Steiner Binos, I have more expensive ones, but they don't work any better than the Steiners. For that reason the expensive ones usually don't leave home.
