Easy to use, not as heavy as some say
Bought this climber last week and had a chance to test it out up in Maine. I found it very easy to use and actually quite light despite the steel frame. For the money, can't beat it. I could see where some people might find it heavy, but I also carried my 3 year old who weighs 35 lbs up a mountain on my shoulders for 2 miles and this stand is no challenge compared to that. I also found it quiet as long as you think about what you are doing when setting it up and climbing. It is silent once up and in the stand.
Feels safe for a 50 yr old female hunter
I like it, would rather feel safe and comforable and carry a little more weight. Its a bit more combersome for the bow, but it still works even if the front don't move up. When you are 25/30 feet up in stand you want a stand to not slip, with any little move and the quitness is qreat for long sits. I can handle it as for as the weight as long as it holds up it part of the bargain, ME! I don't like safty harness.
Typical Summit stand
Purchased this stand for bow season. carrying straps are better than my older model, but still a little uncomfortable for really long hauls. Stirrups work, but being plastic, I wonder how long they will last. Putting it together was a breeze, and it climbs well. I noticed absolutely no creaks in this stand, my older Summit needed some help in that category. The seat is better, but gets a little uncomfortable. All in all a really good buy for the money.
Originally had hunted in a ground blind and purchased the Summit Vipler Classic climber yesterday at Dicks. Climber was assembled and I was in the tree for the afternoon hunt. I am quite pleased with this climber, yes it is constructed of steel and weighs 27 lbs., but the price was within my budget. Very stable in the tree and the harness is quite heavy duty. Overall I am quite pleases with the purchase, price and qulaity. Happy Hunting!

The listing for this stand is contradictory.
Headline says it weighs 20 lbs, but the description gives the weight as 26 lbs. This is the SS version, NOT the aluminum model, so it weighs more than the 20lb weight of the aluminum model. If one accepts the weight, this is one of the best designed stands I have used in my 50+ years of hunting. It is quiet comfortable and secure once in place.
Summit Viper Classic
Solid, quiet and stable. Terrific tree stand.
See a lot of weight comments, but I never took the time to weigh mine. My 13 year old humps his to the woods and back just fine. This stand feels no heavier than any other, in fact it rides on your back pretty comfortably.
good stand; poor assembly instructions
Those that complained that 30lbs is heavy are wimps or are really out of shape. Try carrying 70lb treee stands! I only weigh 155 and this thing is a piece of cake to carry half a mile.
This is the best climber I have ever had, I have hunted API, OLE MAN, TRE LOUNGE and the old SUMMITT VIPER nothing compares this is a got to have climber.
u all are babys i bought this stand and i love it im 13 years old and its easy for me to carry GREAT STAND
