| This is the second Suunto clipper compass I have bought. Lost the first one during a move because it slipped off the watch band. The size of the clip is way too narrow and it is the only thing that earns this product a demerit. I dont think this suunto clipper compass will fit most of the watch bands today; perhaps not even the Suunto watch bands themselves. However, this compass comes with a nylon and velcro strap big enough to be used as a wristband or hung from a key ring. The luminous bezel is a great addition for navigating in the dark. It looks and feels sturdy. I am not sure whether it is meant to deliver precise calibrations, but it is certainly more accurate than the compasses of a similar class from other popular brands around. Good job Suunto | |

The best of the micro compasses

| My Suunto has not developed any bubble even in cold weather after a couple of years of use. It settles more quickly and hardly deflects when tilted from level, as compared to other micro compasses. It has a rotating, ratcheting, calibrated bezel. By far the best micro-compass I have used, on a par with a base-plate compass. A must-have in any survival kit and can actually serve as a general-use compass as well. Very compact. | |

| Have had my luminous Suunto Clipper model for about a year, worn 24/7 field and office. I put my daily watch on the Suunto strap, so it can't be lost unless both pins fail. The compass has not come off the strap, is still luminous, settles quickly and is spot on accurate. Get one! | |

| About 8 years ago, I received a Suunto watch compass as a gift. Put it on, never took it off, used it until it wore out, so now I have my "Number Two", and use it constantly. I live in a mountain area that is RUGGED. I'd be lost, literally, without my Suunto. | |

| I am the commander of a police dive team. I have worn out three of these devices, I am without one now due to lack of availability. I am lost (literally) without this item. In the water or out, this compass has helped me in the many aspects of law enforcement | |

Great Compass | |

| I have tried many built in watch compasses, but clipping this compass to my watch band has been the cheapest, most accurate and easiest to use solution to needing a compass (mtn biking, short hikes) without always needing to plan ahead. Great product. | |

| Of course I always use two compasses. However, this one has been so reliable that I'm getting to the point where I rarely bother to take the other one out of my backpack. | |

Cannot handle freezing, Inaccurate.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| It was off by about 5 degrees. That would have been okay, because I only intended on using it for general bearings, and not orienteering or map making. Before taking it into the field I put it in the freezer. Several hours later and something must have cracked because a big bubble had formed, rendering the compass entirely useless. I cannot recommend this compass to anyone who will be depending on it in freezing weather. Suunto's other wrist compass, BTW, passed the freezing test. | |

Overpriced and Cheaply made

| A few years ago before a lot of adventure races started poping up this compass was sold for $4. It's never been worth anymore, but now costs over 3x that. The bearing is off upto 10 degrees, just depends on the one you get. It will meet manditory gear requirements and is a conversation starter, but that is all it's good for. | |
