Have had an Observer for many years now and gone through numerous standard bands. Thought I would try out the stainless one this time and have found it very hard to open after cutting it to fit my wrist. To open with no problems, the design is for the clasp and all the folding parts to be flat, not how a wrist is shaped. Didn't think this would be a problem at first, but when you fight to remove your watch every day it gets annoying. Due to the location of the watch pins the setup is hard as well, spent about an hour fighting with it with numerous tools before I finally figured it out. Once the band is cut to fit your wrist, there is no way to expand it. A major design flaw for an outdoor item to not take into account for swelling during workouts. This is not worth the extra money, get the standard band, cheaper, easier to work with and adjustable.
