Positive Reviews:

For [$], not bad at all

Rating:****
I had no problems with the product, it kept 4 of us dry while tailgating a football game with room to grill etc. on two seperate occasions. To those negative reviews- what did you think you were getting for[$]? It is what it looks like, an extended tarp with guy lines. We connected it to the car rack, as pictured, and had the back open so that created even more headroom. Overall, a great buy.

No way you can tailgate with this. Where do I start? I bought this tarp with the thought that the poles are cheaper than other manufacturers' tarp/tent poles. So with that being said not a bad [$] spent for tarp 2 poles. On the flipside, the design of the tarp is absolute garbage. The tarp is not a rectangle as one would expect. It starts off very narrow and then widens to a width of 8 feet. If you look at the photo, pay close attention to how it connects to the car. That width is between 4-5 feet. Between the poles is 8 feet, so you are looking at approximately 40 sqft. No a whole lot of coverage when you consider the ridiculous length of the tarp. In order to have usable space I ended up having to set it up backwards. The side that supposed to connect to the car I staked to the ground. The end that is supposed to be staked to the ground I attached to two trees. This greatly increased the space, but I had to use my own rope. The tarp was angled from the trees downward to the poles, and again down to the ground so that no rain would collect. When the weather was good things seemed to be great. However, within 20 minutes of it raining the tarp had bowed in the middle with approximately 30 gallons of rain water. The reason it did this was because the material stretched like elastic. (Positive note is that it did not leak). There are only 2 grommets on the entire tarp. Guy chords are tied to fabric loops stitched to the tarp. So with the additional weight of 30 gallons of water the loops started tearing off one by one. It was a like a tidal wave of water that drenched my entire camp kitchen area, URGHHHH. So I am considering buying grommets and placing them where they should have been in the first place. Hopefully rigging it like a lean-to will prevent the build of water.

worst....canopy....EVAR!!!!!!!!!!!

It might have been a bit of an impulse buy, but I was excited when I took this thing home. That's where the excitement ended. This thing has a horrible design, and for the amount of usable space you get back VS. the footprint it occupies, its totally not worth it. Better off spending the extra $40 and get an easy up canopy, and put it where ever you want. This tent requires 7 Guy wires to be stretched out about 6 feet in all directions, off the ends of the tent. Yes 7 guy wires. Plus, the package shows it set up on pavement. If you have a sledgehammer and can drive in stakes, it might work, otherwise plan on bringing 7 very heavy things to weight down the wires. On top of that, there is not parking lot in the world that would let you take up 3 spots to put this up. Stay away from this item.

don't buy this

Size listed by Dick's is incorrect, it is 6 x 18 not 16 x 18 as listed.

Basic issue with size makes th9is useless for my intended use, so this is more a Dick's problem with their online store than the product, based on this the product fitting purpose does not even make the picture
