These sandals look even better than they did last year! The open heel strap looks like it will be more comfortable. One of my children had occasional issues with the more protective heel strap on last year's model. I found the sizing to be the same as last year's model. I purchased a size up for both my kids. I love the protective toe cap and light weight of this sandal. My kids originally tried on Keen sandals and Toachi. Both said this was more comfortable and fit better. I highly recommend.
My son is five and has been wearing these sandals for about four weeks. They are sturdy, easy for him to put on, provide toe protection for biking, and are flexible enough for running and climbing. Good quality construction. I have a feeling we will be able to hand them down to his younger brother even after a summer of wear by an active kid.
My son has been wearing Toachi for years. This time, I ordered Toachi 2 in the next size and he was swimming in them. They feel more like two sizes up. Toachi 2 is obviously a different fit from the original Toachi.
Love this sandal. But my son was irritated by the strap over the ankle. It's strong, which I loved but he felt uncomfortable. He stated that it hurt him to walk/bend at the ankle. So, they are going back.
My son has wide feet and these fit him perfectly. I love the enclosed toe for protection but also very breathable and comfortable. Easy for a 3-4 year old to put on themselves.
