Teva Dozer III -
The Teva Men's Dozer III Sandals has been completely revamped for 2011, and the result is a hybrid shoe that's better than ever. The Dozer III is still the go-anywhere, do-anything hybrid that its predecessor was, it's just in an even more streamlined and athletic-looking package. So if it's too hot for a hiking shoe, but too hazardous for a sandal, the Dozer III is the perfect solution. The Dozer features T.I.D.E. Grip, a Durabrasion Rubber™ outsole for durable traction; T.I.D.E. Hydro, multiple openings in the upper allow water to drain freely; and, T.I.D.E. Comfort, high abrasion synthetic leather and mesh upper, hook and loop instep adjustment strap for secure fit, durable pull cord for one-pull adjustment, Microban® zinc based anti-microbial protection, compression molded EVA midsole, and encapsulated Shoc Pad™ in the heel for shock absorption. Shoc Pad™ is a blended polyurethane/EVA unit in the heel cup that evenly transfers the energy of impact throughout the footbed and away from the heel. This energy return actually provides greater spring with each forefoot push-off. Microban® Zinc is an environmentally friendly zinc technology that fights the growth of odor causing bacteria and fungus. Built in anti-microbial product protection provides continuous odor control that won't wash off or wear away.

Note: This product comes NEW and in un-used condition, but, may not come in the original manufacturers packaging.

Teva Dozer III Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

This is a replacement for pair of Teva Dozer that I have been wearing since 2007. I wear the Dozer year round and found it to be a good alternative to sneakers for walking, hiking, biking, gardening, household chores, etc. I had worn my old pair so much that I didn't think it would last more than another year. So I was looking for a another Dozer for a while and was glad to find it at Zappos. Even better, the price was about the same as what I paid for the original pair at an outlet. The old pair was one size larger than my normal shoe size because I couldn't find a pair in my size. However, the adjustments in the sandal made it fit fine and being a little longer was not a problem. The new pair is in my normal shoe size and fits fine. It felt a little stiff initially because I was comparing it to my old pair which was loose due to wear. After about a month I didn't notice the stiffness in the new Dozer. The new Dozer has essentially the same design as the original one, with only some cosmetic changes. I always liked the design of the Dozer - the ease of putting them on tightening a single strap over the top of the foot, cover over the toes, good ventilation, rubber insole. The color is more grayish than a charcoal color as it appears in the photo.

I bought these shoes for my husband for a tubing trip we're going to take this summer. The price was too good to pass up, and they're nice looking shoes. As luck would have it, one week after lightning quick shipping from Back Country, my husband twisted his ankle and it became too swollen to wear his work boots. He wore these Teva's since they were the only shoes he owns that he could get off & on over his swollen foot. He loves these shoes already, and we haven't even taken them to the river yet! Since then, two of his co-workers have also ordered some, because everyone just likes them so much. I highly recommend these shoes (although I do NOT highly recommend you twist your ankle just for an excuse to wear them to work!) :)

Bought these based on having a pair of the earlier Dozers, which I loved. I think these are great sandals and even better than my old ones. Be warned that the back heel strap is different on this model and there is quite a soft cushion in the heel, which unfortunately led to some blisters on my first day walking around in them. I think I'll eventually manage to work them in andd I'll be patient because these are great sandals. The new ones have a better all-round tread (much better for water) and are still light, tough and even more athletic.

I don't wear these for long trips or usually even days in a row so drying/stink hasn't been an issue with mine like some of the other reviews. I use mine for day hikes, trips to the dog park, floating the Weber, and even fly fishing. I don't necessarily recommend them for fishing as they can be very slippery but it's something I've learned to deal with. For the other activities these are great. Very comfortable, true to maybe a half size small.

Have narrow feet? This is for you.

I've looking for casual foot wear that is cooler to wear than regular shoes. I have had leather sandals in the past and have had a problem with them creating an oder after wearing them for several months during the summer. I decided to try a synthetic material type sandal to see if that problem would be eliminated. Time will tell but I am very pleased with these shoes so far. The fit and appearance are perfect for what I expected.

Absolutely love these sandals! This is my 2nd pair, I wore the 1st pair out after 2 years of abuse. These sandals have forded creeks and put on many trail miles in the Tetons, Glacier and Yellowstone, They took a beating in the BWCA on several week long canoe trips, they clean up well and are stylish enough to wear around town. Extremely comfortable and rugged. I will buy a 3rd pair when these wear out.

Great looking sandal. Purchased for trip to the Caribbean. Now that I see it person it will be the only shoe I take with me (it's stylish enough to go with casual evening-ware). Wish it came in wide sizes but the velcro straps makes adjusting for comfort easy enough. Arch support is A-fricking-mazing! Sole gripping seems adequate when tested climbing up some wet rocks. All-in-all very pleased with this purchase.

I like em!

Bought these for my yearly fly-fishing trip in Colorado, but had an emergency derail the trip. Had planned to use them walking upstream, in the stream with a thin pair of neoprene booties. Since I didn't get a chance to use them all I can give is my first impressions, which were all good! Next Year!

Excellent water shoe!

I have used these shoes for a while now on my boat and think they are a good blend of lightweight sandal and resilient sneaker. Shore landings on the Mississippi can be muddy, and sandals just do not work well. These protect the feets well, and will rinse off and dry quickly.

Teva Dozer III

Bought these about 4 weeks ago. I like them better than the other big brand of water shoe because they have a better pad/heal strap and cost 20 less. I will also use them backpacking as an "around the camp shoe". At only 11 oz. I like the weight.

Negative Reviews:

Look ugly and feel weird

The previous versions of the Dozer sandal were great: grippy soles, waterproof uppers, and low-key style. They looked just like casual leather sandals, but they were just as comfortable hiking a mountain trail. Even after four years of abuse, I could walk miles and miles of broken terrain in the old Dozers. And they looked good enough that I could wear them to work. With the new Dozers, however, Teva has killed their golden goose. Teva has updated the Dozer III with gel in the insole, about an inch of extra rubber in the outsole, and completely thrown off the movement of the shoe with extra "engineering". The new version does not feel good and does not give me a feeling of stability; I don't like walking in them for any distance whatsoever. These shoes were still giving me blisters after two weeks of wear. And to top it all off, the new version is uglier than a pig in a prom dress thanks to the 'sport styling'. Basically, Teva tried to make a hiking boot shaped like a sandal with running shoe styling thrown in, and failed at all three. Orange and grey? Really?

I hated the Dozer III sandals so bad I couldn't even give them away--nobody else would wear them, either. So now I'm wearing old-fashioned leather fisherman's sandals even though they are not waterproof.

Tore Up My Feet

I was really looking forward to trying quality sandals for in and out of water. I particularly liked toe caps on this model. Wore them around house for about 2 hours first day after buying them. Felt one rub point on left instep. Tried adjusting single lace and strap several times. Thought I got it right. Two days later, wore them outside for about 7 hours, in and out of water at amusement park. Developed blisters on left and right insteps (in two locations on right instep), left inside ankle, outer side of left big toe and top of right pinky toe. Needless to say, very disappointed.
Greg at Campmor on 08/08/2012

not happy

the right shoe is smaller than the left, it's killing my toe nail, it also feels thinner (less wide) than the left. I was suffering in NH this weekend with blisters and a painful toe on my right foot. I'm not happy. the shoes are very uncomfortable. I bought these shoes because I've had a pair for a bout 4 years and never had a problem; these new ones suck.
Not-happy at Campmor on 07/07/2012

Dont get these wet. They take forever to dry and stink something godawful when they do dry. I've never had an issue with any teva's stinking up like these. I tried all the usual stuff dunking in bleach, sun drying etc.. the funkiness is on a completely different level. Even if you dont think your shoes get funky. Skip these. Get a different teva.

krs2455344 at Backcountry.com on 08/21/2012

At first I liked the shoes as they looked good and were comfortable. But after a few days use in very wet conditions my feet had sores from the sandals. Also, the sandals do not dry quickly enough to be an aquatic shoe. I was using the shoes for kayaking, and I was greatly disappointed. I will be returning them.

kea5580663 at Backcountry.com on 06/06/2012

Uncomfortable and Faded unevenly

These caused blisters on the back of my heels because there wasn't enough padding on the back-strap. After 3 or 4 months, one width of the side, front and back material turned ash color and the rest didn't fade. I returned these to REI and bought Keen H2's which are far more comfortable and only slightly heavier.

Neutral Reviews:

Love Arch Support Hate Blisters

It is difficult for me to find shoes with enough arch support for me, and of course sandals don't accept inserts well. That made me want these as soon as I tried them on.
The shoe was promoted to me as better than my previous Teva sandals because they were completely synthetic and better water shoes. While this may well be true, I don't recommend walking any distance in them because of lack of padding in the back strap. And because it is synthetic, it also doesn't give.
isallybananas at REI on 09/09/2012

Shoe is OK - not as good as the original

Good looking, likely durable (based on previous)...seems to be made of cheaper/less flexible materials than previous. More rubs (ie - blisters) and does not quite fit the same as Dozers 1 & 2. Have a narrow foot and have to cinch up the string pull a lot.
