Warm coat

This is a replacement for the same coat my daughter lost. She loves this coat and its very warm. I live in the midwest and she is comfortable standing at the bus stop in zero degree weather or playing in the snow with this coat. Its super cute on her too. It is shiny so if you don't like that, be aware. Colors are really bright. The coat she lost was purple but its no longer available so I got her the bright pink one. Also, this coat runs very small. She normally wears a size 14/16 but I needed to get her the XL in this. She is 5 feet tall and weighs 80 lbs and he XL fits well with some room for growth but is not so big it looks silly. Looks great on her.

So warm!

I am 5'4'' and 110 lbs, ordered a girls size large and it fit perfectly EXCEPT for the sleeves, which were a bit too short. So you might not want to get it if you're planning on wearing this as an outer layer, but I just zipped it into my other North Face jacket and voila! It's perfect. The black was kind of shiny, so be prepared for that. I would've preferred a matte black, but again, I'm only wearing it on the inside so I guess it doesn't matter. Despite the jacket being pretty thin, it keeps my heat in like no other. If I didn't have this jacket, I might be frozen to death by now...and icicles can't type, so let's all thank this jacket for keeping me alive.

Great coat!

I purchased this coat for my 12 yr. old daughter and it was a great choice! It keeps her warm without being bulky and is a beautiful shade. Based on other reviews, I decided to go up a size to the large (even though my daughter is petite for her age), and I'm glad I did. It's slightly big on her, but still fits, and definitely will get her through a few more seasons than the medium would have.

I thought I was crazy to spend this much on a toddlers winter coat, but it is well worth the money! It is so well made and adorable - we get compliments each time we are out. I ordered a 3T. It does run slim through the boy but is not bulky at all. Daughter is 2 years old- 25 lbs and 33 inches - it is a little big but hope to wear through the fall.

Bought this coat for my 2 year old twins. We love it. Nice heavy weight, but no bulk, so it is easy to get in and out of car seats. They are almost 3, but we bought the 4T. Glad we did. It is cut pretty slim, so would have been hard zip around their toddler tummies.

Great Jacket!

My 4 year old loves her new jacket. It keeps her so toasty that she sometimes gets too hot wearing it. It's adorable on her and very good quality. Best of all NorthFace products have a lifetime warranty. Awesome!!! Shipping was fast too. We had the jacket within a week. Highly recommended.

great winter coat for school

My daughter loves this coat because it is warmer than the NF fleece jackets but not bulky. The sleeves run a little short (she is petite, and they fit perfectly, but the coat is a little long on her), may not work for a tall child, or order up a size.

My Daughter Loves it!!

My daughter does not like anything bulky, but she does not like to be cold. We live in North Georgia where the weather is not terribly cold...but the wind can be brutal. It is perfect, and she loves it. Just the right weight without being too heavy.
Yunks at Campmor on 01/01/2013

Love it

My daughter received this coat for Christmas and just loves it. She says it is warm, and allows her to move around on the playground. The neck does come up high and zip to keep her chest covered. She is 102 lbs and the XL fits great!

Negative Reviews:

Burned in my dryer

My daughter wore this for one day and after coming in from playing in the snow the jacket was dripping wet and had to be tumble dried. I put it in the dryer for 82 minutes on "very high" and after it was done drying my daughter took it out and it was burnt. The jacket had black marks in a lot of places around it. Thankfully the company exchanged it for a more advanced one...this jacket + a heavier shell. She now wears both and when it is time to go into the dryer it comes out fine.

Avoid this jacket

I have purchased many North Face winter jackets for my children over the years and purposefully purchased this one a size larger so that my daughter could get two years wear out of it. While the length was fine, the sleeves were abnormally short. It was like the sleeves belonged on a size 8 jacket rather than a size 14 jacket.
DSL at Campmor on 12/12/2011
I bought this jacket for my 4 year old daughter. It fits great and looks beautiful but the feathers come out everywhere from this jacket. It has gotten to the point that my daughters car seat is covered in feathers. I expect better quality form North Face. Zappos, however, has been great. I exchanged this jacket for another company's jacket.

Sleeves too short- ride up

This jacket was not functional for ski wear because the sleeves were way too short and rode up every time you bent over or raised your arms. No sleeve cuffs or powder skirt.

OK not Great

Daughter was happy to receive the jacket. Looks great. A little on the small side in regards to sizing. One year and out because of the sizing. The Quality of the jacket compared to Eddie Baurer's that my wife and I purchased is not the same - Eddie is better. The North Face continually loses down and the quilt stitching is a little loose in some places. Eddie is a better value but isn't as cool with the 10 year old. That being said, if my daughter is happy and will wear it then my wife is happy. I just pay the bills.
