| Fits a bit longer in the body and sleeve length than the apex soft shell (non thermal)..it has a thick fleece inside that lines the entire jacket..sheds rain and snow easily but it alone is not warm enough for the dead of winter here..if you layered well though it may work..imho this jacket is perfect for temps down to about 30 degrees if you are active..the cut of the jacket does allow for layering so keep to your normal size..so if you are looking for a coat to wear all fall & into the winter until your ready to get out the down then this is a great for you..also terrific for end of winter and into spring until it warms up enough for a reg soft shell. | |

| I purchased the Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket and I have to say I am soooooo happy with the choice. It is very warm. I live on Long Island, NY and this winter has been brutal! It is warm enough to wear just a sweater underneath and still stay warm. I feel really protected against the wind as well. Overall, it fits nice and slim. The sleeves are long enough. I am 5'8 and a size 12. I got the XL so that I can layer and have room. It fits wonderfully. I am not disappointed at all! I recommend it. | |

| Overall this is a great step up from the North Face Fleece jackets. It is warmer, but without the added bulk of typical winter jackets. I feel like it runs a little bit smaller than the fleece though, so I did order a size up after trying it on at a local surplus store. I'm not entirely happy with the neck, which tends to stand up regardless of what I do and is a bit scratchy. Overall though, it's my new go to jacket and I love the inside lining. | |
