pretty nice piece
I bought this piece as my underpack windbreaker (I got last years model actually, looks like styling changes and napoleon pocket for this years model). Wanted something light and breathable that could take a beating in the backcountry. So far I've been pretty impressed. I am a very warm blooded individual so the breathability is key. Blocks just the right amount of wind imo. This has also worked great for high output activities like shinny and as my coverup to and from the gym in montreal (i'm tough as nails lol). The DWR is really nice. Gives you about a 5 minute window of serious rain downpour before it bleeds through. Light showers longer. Snow just slides off. The stretch and feel of the fabric is also very nice. A worthy trade in the comfort department vs a crinkly fragile windbreaker. Although the fabric is clearly going to take more abuse than a nylon shell, it will eventually start to show some wear ie. little pulls in the fabric when it has caught on something. Very superficial however (and seems to largely be the work of my cat). Only improvements would be removing the cuff tab and just correctly sizing the cuff (the material is naturally elasticized so it seems kinda redundant - looks like they might have already done this with this model?) and in my case I find the neck to be a little too tight. I can't zip it up with even a 100 weight fleece collar underneath. Mind you I am a mesomorph body type so you lanky fellas shouldn't have a problem.
Very nice, light jacket.
I purhcased a small (i'm 5'6" 160lbs, 38"chest 31"waist, fairly athletic) and it fit perfectly. It has a nice amount ot stretch to it and it fits snugly so its great for layering with.
Breathes really well and does a decent job of blocking low winds.
Only problem with these North Face jackets is that they're almost too fashionable/nice to want to wear them while backpacking, but I've managed to gather the courage to take it on the trails and its held up fine.

GREAT FIT
Just bought this jacket for my son, he loved it!! Great fit, sleek design, true black color, longer in back than his other North Face jackets and it is so comfortable!! This one is a winner in my book. Although he has always been satasfied with North Face products this one is by far his favorite!! Going to order another one!
