Really the first boots I've ever bought - very satisfied.

I don't know how I managed to put it off so long, but I moved to Missouri from Texas about ten years ago, and just now bought my first pair of winter boots...

very comfy and warm | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
The boot is very warm and comfortable to wear. They do run a little narrow, so if you have wide feet, this might not be for you. I typically wear an 11 and I had to get a 11.5 for my toes to have enough room.

"Great For Sons Freshman Year In Boston"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| My son was going away for college and we knew that the Boston winters can be very intense. We went down to our local Moosejaw and took a look at their selection. We needed something functional in the extreme cold Boston has to offer but still look great for my son to like them. He tried them on and immediately commented on how amazingly comfortable they were. He just recently came back and they are in pristine condition despite being used almost every day during winter. They are also waterproof, Boston was very rainy this last winter and my son reported that they didnt leak at all the entire winter. Buy these boots if you need a very durable waterproof set of high quality winter boots. | |

| Great Boot - First pair I received were half size too small, which surprised me because this is my third pair of NF shoes/boots. The taller height of the boots aren't the best for people with pudgy calves. I find that I cannot lace them to the top. I do like the boots, I love the gaiter attachment & the speed laces at the top. Great design, awesome sole... we hike the side of an old ski hill in the winter, and the grippy/temperature sensitive sole does a terrific job. They work great with my snowshoes as well. | |

Bad Weather Boot Scoop | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
These are the most comfortable, functional, stylish, snow, slush, heavy rain, boots I've ever owned. Warm? It's like walking on a Cabo Beach in June when it's below zero out and the snow and wind are trying to highjack your wardrobe. I have found the best all-around cold weather boot and it's name is Baltoro. Recommend the 200 gram-thinsulate if temps are not below freezing and the 1000 gram-thinsulate if it is constantly below 20-degrees "F" outside. For everything between, the 400-gram does the job. Your feet will sing your praises!

| So far so good - I haven't gotten a chance to try these out when I need them but I can say they are so warm I couldn't keep them on in the house for more than 15 minutes before my feet were an inferno! They look really good too. Can't wait to get out ice fishing next year! I normally wear a 10.5-11 and I ordered a 12 which seem to fit really well with a heavy pair of socks. | |

Third winter and still going strong

| I'm one of those people who always wants the newest and best winter gear. I have no need to upgrade my winter boots. These are great. Usually my fingers and toes are cold after a walk outside. In Maine, we get -20 degree days all winter long. In these boots, my toes never get cold. They work great with my snowshoes and crampons as well. (I fit in a 10 boot, but most of my shoes are 8.5 or 9.) | |

Feel's great | |

| I was looking for a good pair of hiking boots for cold northwest fishing and I believe these are good fit. I have arthritis in both knees so I really have to look hard to find something that is comfortable and meets the challenge of hiking the river banks. I have non-insulated boots that were not meeting the need to keep my feet warm. The added support and comfort were a great bonus. | |

Great all-around winter boot.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought these boots 2 years ago for snowshoeing in the Cascades and thought they were great the first time I used them. I had to wear a very thin pair of socks because the boots were a little bit snug but were so warm I didn't need heavy socks. Only real complaint is that the boots take a little while to dry from getting damp on the inside from sweat. | |

Great boot | |

| I bought these last year looking for an upgrade to my old winter boots. After a full year, they do not leak whatsoever, are plenty warm on cold, wet winter days and serve their intended purpose. I have never been cold or wet with these in Boston, Vermont, Maine or NH on extremely cold skiing days and very wet commutes to work. Highly recommended. | |

-40 Below? I don't think so....
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The company advertises: "Whether you're heading to the South Pole or are in a local blizzard, the Baltoro 400 II boots from The North Face keep you warm and dry. Comfort rated to -40°F." Because this product was rated both waterproof and good to temperatures down to -40 below (F), I thought it would make a great boot for getting around in the winter (generally)and snowshoing during South Dakota's typically rough winter. Well, this turned out not to be the case. After less than 1/2 a mile in the snow at 1 degree (F), my toes began to go numb. Clearly not a good boot to rely on if you actually have to rely on it in cold weather and certanly not in 40 below! Adding to that is the general "wetness" of the inside of the boot if one simply uses it as a "day-wear" walking around snowboot. As seems to be the case with Northface these days, the boot looks fantastic, but it does not function...to the point that I could have lost my toes had I not been doing a simple equipment "shakedown cruise" fairly near home prior to embarking on a more serious cold-weather adventure. | |

Poor Performance! | |

| I used the boots for work last winter. I work for Fedex so I am in the weather most of the time. I had use the boots less than 3 months I wore them every day when it was -10 for almost a week. My feet where freezing the whole time, the right boot leaked water and there where rips in the tounge of each boot, the bottoms where looked like I had them for three years. I only worked 6 hours a day so not a whole lot of wear on them.[...] | |

THEY LEAK IN ANKLE DEEP SNOW

| I am a snow groomer and I bought these boots for the ski season this year. They started leaking 2 weeks into starting work. They leak in ankle deep snow. Most of the water comes in around the front of the boot. I don't recommend using these boots for any snow or wet applications. [...], I will be returning these as soon as a get a chance.
