High quality...perfect under a shell
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Even though TNF has taken a hit in recent years for being too popular (and going overboard with the logos)...they still make great stuff. The Borealis top is one such piece, the perfect combination of light fleece and spandex makes this a perfect choice to go underneath a hard or softshell for whatever winter outdoor activity suits you. The fit is close...but still allowing for a light baselayer underneath. The monkey thumbs are great for when you're putting on a shell..and the stretch panels mean that this top will never restrict your movements. Overall, yet another functional, high quality item from TNF. | |

Highly recommeded for you outdoor pursuits

| Purchased as a layering piece for backpacking. Very light and fits quite snug, I am 6'2", 185 and purchased the medium as I usually do with The North Face apparel. The only slight complaint is the cuffs are not stretchy and subsequently you cannot pull them up for ventilation and the can be a little difficult taking off and putting on. The extended zippered front and extreme light weight more than make up for this in my opinion | |

Great middle layer | |

| Fits more like a mid-heavy baselayer than a fleece pullover...which is fine with me since that is exactly what I needed. Unlike another reviewer, I DO find that the cuffs are stretchy (made of smooth spandex like material) and can be rolled back when not using the thumbholes. The chest pocket is too small to be really useful...but I rarely use those things anyway. Overall, a great mid-layer over a light base and water resistant shell. | |

"pretty good shirt" | |

| this is a little lighter weight than I expected, but I love it anyway. My arms are long enough that I don't have to use the monkey holes, which is nice. Soft and fuzzy all over, but not thick. I am gorilla shaped and sized and often wear a large, but ordered an XL just in case - fits perfect | |

good top | |

| I'm 6'2" 220lbs. and the XL fits great. The loop holes on the sleeves are great and fit perfectly. The shirt is soft on the skin or big enough to wear a light layer underneath it. A great mid layer shirt or running shirt in mild conditions. | |

| Fits perfectly over a base layer, nice and warm. Only problem is the collar is a little bit inflexible, and digs into your neck if you need to keep it zipped up fully. Thumb holes are dope. | |

Great fit! Great as a mid layer

| I love this top! For the fall, it's great over a t-shirt, especially out hiking with the dogs. I especially love the thumb holes and look for that when buying outerwear. | |
