The Denali jacket is zip in compatible.

The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket

I bought three jackets for my grandchildren. They loved the jackets and wear them all the time. It is such a nice feeling for a grandparent to be able to get them a gift they like and one that will get them out of the house away from the video games, ha! Backcountry is a very good company to buy from. The prices were reasonable, shipping was fast and free and they even credited my card when the price of one of the jackets was lowered. What company ever does that any more! Just so North Face will know, one child was a bit concerned about the lack of a draw string at the bottom of the jacket. She said her old one had the draw string and she liked it better, but it wasn't a big deal to her and she still liked the new one.

Hands-down, the warmest, most practical jacket EVER!

| After looking over several selections, I opted on purchasing this jacket for my 9 year-old daughter. She is a bit of a tomboy and plays lots of sports, so I needed something durable, good-looking, and warm, while also standing up to multiple washes, if necessary. She LOVES this jacket, and so do I! The kelpie green color is a dream, and she practically lives in this jacket 3 out of 4 Northeast seasons a year. Size Medium fits her perfectly, as if made to order. The wonderful fleece material also seems impervious to most day-to-day dirt, and it still looks brand new after 5 machine washes, gentle cycle. I plan to buy these for my other 2 daughters, as well. Great value, and Altrec service was superb: I received the jacket a scant 3 days after ordering it! | |

Great Jacket | |

| I'm 5'1" and 140lbs. I bought the Girl's Denali Jacket in XL size and they fit me very well with room for bulky sweaters. Plenty of length in the arms and the jacket length falls just below my back side. I would recommend petite sized women to get a Girl's size jackets in XL, especially if you want to save money. the only difference with the women's vs. the girl's jacket is that the women's have a slight hourglass shape to it, where as the girl's jacket is straight and has no shape to it. Personally, I think the girl's straight design is better because then you can wear bulky sweater underneath and it wouldn't feel constricted. | |

I am 24 years old, 5'2 and around 120-125lbs. I have the jacket in a girl's XL and to tell the truth I wish I had the L. The XL is a little too long length-wise. It is still a great jacket but I would definitely like it if it were a little shorter (like maybe hitting just below the hip or at the hip--now it hits more like a hooded sweatshirt or something and comes down below the butt).

My daughter had to have this coat!!
| Rating: | ![]() |
I will start out by telling you that I thought the jacket was a little expensive for a fleece type coat, but, my daughter just had to have it!! She, of course had to have the green, which was a little difficult to find. She wanted the coat so much, she used some of her birthday money and paid for half the price of the coat!!!! She is 12 and not a big girl, and we first ordered an children's large....it fit but the sleeves were a little short, so check the sleeve length when ordering. We reordered the extra Large and She just loves and and now it will fit her in the Fall.

"Versatile and low maintenance jacket, looks great on adults too"

| I became a huge fan of Denali jackets after trying a few of them on at REI. I didn't buy one right away, and did some research until I found the best price on Moosejaw. I'm so glad that I did! As a petite person (5'2", 100 pounds), I wear a medium in the girls' Denali jacket. It fits really well and you can't tell that it was made for a child's figure. The Denali is cute and durable, and doesn't overwhelm my figure. Moosejaw has fantastic customer service too - it took only 4 days to get my order from MI to CA using free shipping! :) | |

Love the jacket! I have a girls L - though i'm a 5'4" adult. Originally i went with the girls XL but found it be a bit more boxy in the shoulders than i like so called customer service and they had a new one in the mail to me for the same sale price (though it wasn't on sale any longer) and told me to return the XL separately and they would refund me but that way i recieved the preferred size quicker. A++ for customer service!! (I have since made 2 more purchases with back country and have experienced same great service every time! )

Norhface for me | |

I just wanted to add my review since I found them so helpful in picking size. I am 5"5 and 125# I ordered a youth x-large and it fit perfectly. I love the black jacket! I had seen by another review that someone about my size had ordered x-large and it was way too big. Well I almost ordered a youth large because of that review but went the safe route and ordered the x-large and I am glad I did. Shipping was super fast 2 days and free!! Very pleased with backcountry as this is my second time back. Thank you!

For Women Too | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The jacket is very high quality, has Polartec fleece which is the best, is very warm, and I think it blocks wind well also. I purchased a white/white one and branson blue, and both are very attractive. I wear a Medium in the Women's but I like the Girls XL fit better for me because I have more of a straight up and down athletic build. If you have a curvier figure, the Women's might be your preference. I've yet to be able to beat Altrec prices, and returns and exchanges are very easy as well. | |

I Loved it ! | |

I actually loved the jacket, but it was the wrong color to suit my daughter, who is the person I bought it for. I have returned it (which was a very simple process) and ordered the correct color and I am looking forward to getting the new one. I only wish that I could have gotten the new one at the same price as the previous order. I got it for $66 (what a steal) and I have to pay $99 now to get another color. But I still love the product !

Ordered jacket on Dec. 17th with the offer of free shipping. They did not bother to say that the shipping would take 12 days to get to us. We did not find this out until we started tracking the package on Ups. We ordered other things from other companies on the same day and received them through UPS in less than 5 days. So in other words our daughter will not receive her jacket on Christmas day.

This doesn't have a bungee at the bottom and fits kind of awkwardly, I prefer the old one and have had it for a month and only worn in twice. I don't like it and it was a waste of money.

The shoulders are huge on these North Face kids jackets! I can't imagine what child they're using as a model. It seems like the women's clothes are better proportioned.

Too small | |

We were told the children's large jacket was the equivalent to the Adult small and that is not the case. The children's jacket was too small.

Good item; not a good fit
| Rating: | ![]() |
I ordered a youth large for my 12 year old daughter who is 5'2" and 95 lbs. The body of the jacket was a good fit but the sleeves were too short. We did not exchange for the youth XL because we felt that the body would be too large even if the sleeves would fit properly. Otherwise we liked this item.

big shoulders | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
As mentioned here, the kids sizes are boxy (i.e. big in the shoulders). I couldn't size down or the sleeves would be too short, so I sewed an extra seam on the inside of the top shoulder and that fixed the problem. I think North Face really needs to rethink the proportions for kids, however.
