Heading out on the Picket Traverse, the ultralight North Face Dyad 22 Tent is the perfect pick for critical weight saving without giving up comfort and weather protection. With a new mesh front door and front vestibule, added venting versatility and storage makes it a roomy option at slightly over 3 pounds. Upon reaching Sandy Flats it's time to quick pitch the Dyad with it's ultralight MicroClip™ and color-coded poles, while rolling back the vestibule for a night of comet watching.

Sleek, lightweight design makes this two-poled tent a popular lodge for two adventurers on the move. Wind-tunnel tested lift technology actually makes this tent stronger as wind speed increases, and effective high-low venting promotes cross airflow, increasing evaporation. Weighing less than three and a half pounds, this tent has been updated for the spring to include a new mesh front door and a front vestibule.

Featuring combination single-wall & double wall construction, the two-person Dyad 22 from The North Face® is a very popular tent for adventures who absolutely need to minimize weight. Max weight of under 4 pounds.

Pretty good for the price

| The bad: The reviews about condensation are accurate. This tent will occasionally get very damp on the inside. I found it was worse than my friends' larger, non-single-walled tents when we camped near the Pacific Ocean. You really want to make sure that you pull the tent very tight when setting it up--don't be afraid you're going to tear it. This will help keep the ventilation open (they'are at the ends). Good: The tent is extremely light. It also takes about 3 minutes to set up, once you get the hang of it. If you're into cutting weight from your pack, going to a relatively dry place (or don't mind some dew), this is a perfect tent for you. It is possible to fit two people inside the tent, although you will be a bit snug. | |

| I love the Dyad 22. It is the lightest two person tent I could find. The price is good too. It is simple to set up and takes less then 3 minutes to have your pad and bag inside. This tent beats a tarp, because it is waterproof all the way around, and you get bug protection. It packs small and is light. I found the inside room to be perfect (no extra wiggle room). I am 5'10" 175lbs, my wife is 5'3" 120 lbs and we fit fine with our two packs at our feet. I rate this tent a five. Its light, packs small, waterproof, bug proof, easy to set up, and the price is good. Happy hiking. | |

| used this tent up in the big horn crags, ID. it was very cold for August. night temps. about 20 degrees. The tent went up quick, packed nice & light for a two man. Usual problems with a single wall tent though. Condensation was a real bugger. I had frost, and some ice on my sleeping bag--near my feet! inside of the tent was either wet or frosty every morning. But condensation is always a problem in small tents like this. Over-all did the job it was intended to do. | |

Perfect tent for Philmont

| I used this tent for 11 nights at Philmont (Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico) and it was terrific. Lightweight and I wanted the space of a 2-man tent for myself for that long of a trip. Tent is very well made - easy to put up by yourself and rolls up easily to go back into the compression sack. | |

Light and Wet | |

| The Good: Great lightweight tent. The lightest good quality tent you can find for the price. Easy to set up, packs small. The Bad: Really a one person tent. You'll be lucky if you can fit some gear in it - also no vestibule. The Ugly: Condensation. Everytime I've used this tent in cold weather I've woke up with tons of condensation inside the tent. If its cold enough the inside will be covered in ice. Last night it was just wet. Wet enough to be dripping down on me. That is why I will replace it for hikes that don't require an ultralight pack. | |
