Good for "not so bad" kinda cold

I bought these gloves to wear when I go to take pictures of birds in the very early hours of the day. They have got perfect grip and are touch screen friendly. They grip my camera perfect.
When I am not taking photos, I do wear one mitton gloves on these with hand warmers. I live in CO and it gets around 0-15 F in the early hours of the day. If you are considering them for above 15F, you wont need any second layer on these.

Extremely Happy with these Gloves

These are the best gloves I've very had and very happy with them. I've tried a lot of Etip gloves but by far these are the best, because they are true to size it makes it easy to use my iphone. I live in California so the coldest it's been so far is in the low 50. but my fingers tend to get cold easily and these so the Job

Great gloves!

I've only had them for a couple weeks, but they work exactly as advertised. They work on everything that is touch activated perfectly, are warm enough for daily outdoor cold weather activity, and allow good grip while driving. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone who needs to use touch screens in the cold, they're great with my camera.

Perfect for student

These gloves were purchased for my daughter who is a student at Georgia Tech. Atlanta is brrrr COLD in January and they are (her words) "perfect for the cold days" she's experienced this winter while walking around campus plus she can still txt / use her phone.

Nice Purchase for my Son

My son wears these and says it has kept his hands warm during this COLD SPELL we have had! The main use for these gloves are for smart phone screens and he loves that, no more removing gloves!

Negative Reviews:

I had high hopes, but they fell short on delivery.

I bought these gloves and paid the price premium over other gloves hoping they would provide decent warmth, good dexterity and allow me to use my iphone. Unfortunately, they are not warm at all. The slightest breeze below 32F and you can feel it on your hand. The index fingers keep twisting so the non-Etip material contacts the screen so I have to keep turning the "finger" but it wants to go back. When they gloves are not on, the finger still wants to twist. Now, a month later one of the seams on the left thumb has opened up. TNF wants me to mail them back, what am I suppsed to wear for 6 weeks?

Amazing product: poor construction

I ordered these gloves on October 12, 2013. I absolutely loved them; however, after 3 months of light use both gloves began to fall apart at the seams. I wish I could post picture! Sadly, I have to go through a month process to return them via online. Even worse is I have no promise that I won't just get another pair that were poorly sewen. Other than the pathetic durability of the gloves, I cannot be more happy with the actual function of the gloves themselves.

Does not work with iPhone 5S...

I don't know if they've recently changed the material, but I bought these 2yrs ago when I have my iPhone 4 and it worked fine. But it does not work with my iPhone 5S now - still works with my old iPhone 4 and iPad, but not the newer iPad mini or iPhone 5S. Additionally, I support that they do NOT block any wind whatsoever.

ETip Longevity Is Minimal

I purchased these gloves in October of 2013, about three months later the Etip sections of my gloves began to change color and were not as sensitive when operating my electronic device. Now in Feb of 2014, Etip is absolutely ineffective. Many other manufacturers produce a similar product at a much lower cost. Whether the competitors product is better, I do not know. But if you are going to purchase something that only last a few months, I would recommend purchasing something less expensive.

short on length and warmth

i lost my tnf etip gloves from last year and was hoping to replace them. unfortunately, they've been changed. the fit is off and the material doesn't keep hands warm. last year's gloves seemed to have better material and fit.
the only upside is that they do work tech-wise.
overall a thumbs down especially considering the price. $45 for gloves that don't do their primary job (warmth). :-( bring back the old gloves! please?
haikusan at The North Face on 01/20/2014

These gloves are an overpriced disappointment. They were bought to replace a lost pair of cloth liners that are no longer made. My old pair fit better, were warmer, softer, more compact and half the price. On the positive side, these gloves seemed to be one of the best among the available selection.
