The North Face Get Down Jacket -

The North Face Women’s Get Down Jacket is a down jacket for skiing in style. Wrapped inside the waterproof HyVent 2L fabric is 550-fill down to keep you warm and toasty on cold slope days. The relaxed fit provides plenty of room for movement with a mid-layer underneath. Before you jump on the chair lift, snap together the powder skirt and the rubber grippers will help keep snow and drafts off your back. Plenty of pockets provide room for your goggles, mp3 player, and cash. The hood and the belt are removable so you can change your look for the mountain or for the town.

FEATURES of The North Face Women's Get Down Jacket.

  • Adjustable, detachable hood ensures a weather-blocking, personalized fit; hood can be secured to jacket so it doesn't flap around

  • Adjustable belt, drawcord hem and rip-and-stick cuffs to help retain warmth
  • Do not dry clean, do not use fabric softener.

Wash and Care:

  • Close all zippers and Velcro closures before washing.
  • Wash on a gentle cycle, using a mild powder detergent.

  • Dry the jacket by itself for 25-30 minutes on medium heat, then reduce the heat on your dryer to low. Dry until the jacket is completely dry and all of the down has been restored to its former fluffiness (this may take several hours).
  • Insulated with quality 550-fill-power down for warmth, light weight and compressibility
  • Snap-down powder skirt with gripping elastic keeps snow out
  • The North Face Get Down women's insulated jacket has a relaxed fit

Weather and Wind:

  • HyVent 2L, PU coating, fully taped seams
  • HyVent™ 2-layer construction is waterproof, windproof and breathable; fully sealed seams prevent moisture from seeping through

  • External chest pocket; zip handwarmer pockets; wrist pocket with goggles cloth; internal goggles pocket; internal media pocket

  • Put the jacket through the rinse cycle twice.

The North Face Women's Get Down Jacket has all the weather protection you need for your ski days and all the stylish features you want for a winter's walk across town. Its HyVent 2L shell has fully taped seams for waterproof protection, yet the Get Down is surprisingly breathable so you don't feel stifled when you're hopping down a mogul run. The550-fill down insulation warms you to the core whether you ski on cold bluebird days or stroll across the cityscape on a snowy night.

The Get Down has a relaxed fit, but the integrated belt cinches down around your waist to add shape. Its powder skirt is there to protect your back from snow when you need it, and you can snap it away when snow isn't an issue. The hood is removable for sunny days. An adjustable hem system lets you seal out any cold breezes, and you have separate pockets for your goggles, cell phone, wallet, and hands.

The Get Down insulated jacket by The North Face boasts waterproof protection, goose down insulation and go-anywhere style to ensure you're warm and protected from first chair to last call.

Warm, stylish, down and waterproof?! Yes

I purchased the greystone blue version of this and wore it for the first time to a college football game. It was 28 degrees, snowing, with 20+ mph winds and I was warm and dry. The combination of a waterproof hardshell and down fill is perfect. The hood is just the right size and provides great coverage from wind and snow. The snow skirt keeps the jacket in the right place even with movement, and the cut of the jacket is stylish and good-looking. While the cost of this was on the high end it was worth every penny and I'm looking forward to getting out in the snow in it again.

Great ski jacket

I absolutely love this jacket. It is so warm, comfortable, and looks great. The fitted belt makes it look super cute, outer lining keeps you totally dry (rain just rolled right off), soft around the neck, so if you zip all the way up is very cozy and warm, on 20 degree days you don't even need a face mask it's that toasty. Fits as designed, fitted enough to look feminine but bulky enough to layer underneat. Only downside is there aren't any zip vents, so on a warm ski day I'd wear a different jacket.

womens get down jacket

Love the jacket! I went to a few stores that carry northface jackets before I purchased the womens get down jacket.. Jacket is very comfortable and warm. the only thing I don't like and would change on the jacket is the velcro. Velcro runs down the jacket next to the zipper and I wish it was buttons instead and the chest pockets should close with buttons because I only have had the jacket for a year and the right sleeve of my jacket is getting ruined by the Velcro. my left sleeve looks brand new!

Luv it!

I love my coat...the fit is awesome! I always thought these coats were made for blizzards! However, this past Polar Gortex that caused us to Have below freezing temps proved me wrong!!! But I still love this coat and I'm gonna order another one next year!

Negative Reviews:

disappointed- broken zipper in 4 weeks.

I purchased this jacket from a local merchant on 12/29/13. 4 weeks later, the zipper had broken. Local merchant said it would take 6 weeks to get it back from Northface if I sent it through them. Northface offered me free shipping to the warrenty department- and said it would take 4-6 weeks to get jacket back. In Northface's defense, they said if I purchased it from them, they could replace it "right away." Disappointed with product, with local merchant, and with Northface.

Design Flaw

I gave this coat a poor rating because of the velcro flaw. The velcro pieces are switched so that the velcro hocks are on the right side of the coat which means that the hooks will catch your arm or anything else on the right front of the coat every time you move. This becomes annoying while driving. For the cost of a North Face coat I am really disappointed that such a design flaw exists and will be returning the coat.
