Warm and Feel Good | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
First off, I would never drive in these boots. They are a bit stiff and remind me of ski boots at first but after a couple of minutes they don't feel as clunky. Still, too stiff to manage gas/brake pedals. That same stiffness makes them feel GREAT in the snow. My feet don't feel like they're sliding and my ankles are well-supported. I ordered a half size larger and they fit perfectly. The tread pattern is comfortable to walk on and feels secure on snow. I've had many boots over the years and usually end up disappointed with their warmth after an hour or two. When you've trudged all the way to the sledding hill, who wants to give up after an hour because of cold feet? These are warm, and they STAY warm! I like to tuck my pants in when I'm just walking but I can also get my pants down over the top when I'm playing, to keep the snow out of the top. If they made a little taller model I'd buy those, too. I've recommended these to my friends.

i needed a good pair of winter boots for chicago winters. after researching and reading many reviews, i decided on north face for their prices (a tad more reasonable than some other popular "winter boot" brands), style, and reliability. i have wide feet so went with a half size larger. the boots fit fine and weren't as stiff in the ankles as i expected. the first try on was a tad tight but i broke 'em in quickly. i have to wear thicker socks mostly because one of my feet is smaller than the other and it's what i need for my foot to fit into the boot correctly. i have yet to go through deep snow (the kind covering my feet) to find out if they're water proof (very important), but i feel confident they will do the job!

Greenland Zip boot | |

This is a warm and functional boot for most winter conditions. Traction on packed snow is excellent. I have trouble keeping fingers and toes warm during our subzero winters, so I'm always on the lookout for warm mitts and boots. I bought these a half size larger than usual so that I could wear a couple layers of thermal socks. The boots do a pretty good job in -20 degree conditions as long as I am working my toes. With the side zips, they are easy to get on and take off. While providing solid ankle support for trudging through snow (especially while strapped to snowshoes), they are not clunky or awkward. They are completely waterproof--even in slush or heavy, wet snow. The fur collars are a stylish accent when you tuck in your pantlegs. If you want the boots to have less presence, wear boot cut pants and, with a little effort, you can work your pantlegs over the boots.

I ordered this boot just like everyone, reading the reviews, wondering what will happen when I receive it. Will it fit? Will it be warm? What to expect, are the reviews true? Let me tell you, I live in Florida, hmmm not much snow here. I went to Colorado Breckenridge this Thanksgiving and me, a FL girl needs to stay warm. These boots were made for it!!! Awesome!!! Walked on snow, ice, water!! nothing will get through them!! They are very comfortable, look fashionable, keep you dry and warm. I ordered them 1/2 bigger and do that for sure. You need to be able to put a sock inside. I was wearing my snowboarding socks and it was perfect. Do not order 8 if your shoe size is 8, order 81/2 its a must.

| I like this boot a lot. I am pregnant and I needed something I could get on and off pretty easily with out bending over. We've had a big winter blast here in Chicago and I have not felt like I was going to slip at all. Also my feet were nice and toasty. The boots are a little narrow in through the toes and I don't think I have wide feet. I also have to wear higher socks because the fur lining tends irritate my skin, but that could be because of pregnancy. Over all, a great boot. I feel warm and safe, so it's a winner in my book. | |

Awesome boots | |

Wow, these boots are amazing. Super cute, lightweight and very comfy. They definitely fit true to size; I'm an 8 normally, and thats what I bought. Definitely have enough room to wear medium thickness winter socks, and while the shin is stiff it's not uncomfortably so (plus, you need the support when walking on ice!). I have high arches and narrow feet so I definitely like the side zip to get them on, but have lots of room inside with thin socks. They look so cute tucked into jeans! As always, reliable and fast shipping.

Unbelievably Warm | |

My feet are always cold and I have owned many pairs of winter boots. When you wear these boots, it actually feels like there is a heater in them. Your feet stay toasty warm and don't sweat. Love them! Best money I ever spent & will never buy another brand or style of winter boots to keep my feet warm. Great tread, comfortable, and look good. I have a black pair. I feel they run small. I wear size 8 in boots & I had to buy a size 9 in the greenland zip boot.

My hubby got me a pair of these and they are the best snow boots I've ever had - super warm, sturdy and best of all, easy to get on and off with all your snow gear on. He thinks I don't like them because I won't wear them to the grocery store when it snows, but they are just too warm. However, they are perfect for what they are intended for and I would highly recommend them! They will go under regular pants/jeans easily too, which is great for winter resort town wear.

The lady loves them | |

Got these for the mrs. she's from california and has complained for a year about the north east cold. she's in love with them since day one. Says they keep her feet warm in the coldest condtions and have yet to allow a drop of water inside during rain or snow. She's only 95lbs and says they are a little heavy to wear all the time but for a regular size person i'm doubting the weight to be noticable. From her comments I say they were an excellent choice thus far.

I live in Chicago and bought it in Feb.On the coldest winter night, I walked along the magnificent mile and my feet were nice and toasty! I have it in a 6 and they are well worth the price. My toes were a little numb from the tightness at first BUT this is great for easy slip-on and provides great grip on icy sidewalks. I just wanted to know how I can clean them tho and put the chipped paint back on from the logos in the front...

MOST UNCOMFORTABLE FIT EVER - Expensive to return!!!

These were too stiff & constraining for me, even though I purchased 1/2 size larger than usual. Only thin socks fit in the boot!!!

Too short and too big around the ankle
| Rating: | ![]() |
| They are too big to get your pants over them, and they rub the ankles when you walk. Snow gets in because the tops are too wide and too low, especially in the back. Also, sizing is way off. I wear an 8-1/2, and in these boots had to get a 9-1/2 and they were still a little tight around the toes. | |

Too heavy and too short | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Sizing is way off, usually I wear a 7-1/2 and I had to buy a 9. They are heavy, 400 g each one and when you take up a hill full of snow, it is not so easy because they are too rigid. | |

Nice, but not a good fit | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
The boots are really sturdy, and solid. I like them a lot, but they are SUPER tight. I returned them. The side zip is nice, but it makes them a lot tighter. I ended up getting another pair of north face taht tied instead which made a huge difference. The boots seem warm though, very nice, and true to the look on the site. I think they run small. I wear a 6.5 and got a 7 and they were still too small for my foot with a winter sock on.

Perfect in most ways | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I just received these boots and they were perfect in almost every way. I walked the dog five miles through packed snow, ice and drifts and I had no problem with traction. My feet were wonderfully warm and comfortable despite the -20 temperature. However, the side zip makes for an almost ski boot feel on the shin area. There is no shin 'give' that a front closure might offer. I found that the top front of the boot had chafed my shins raw. I will, unfortunately, be returning these boots.

For Narrow Feet Only | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I sure wish TNF made wider shoes! Otherwise these boots would have been perfect. I read all these reviews before buying and suspected this might be an issue. I even ordered 1/2 size larger but my feet were still squished. Shin/calf fit was loose on me and let in a lot of air. Pluses: Tread is bomber; easy in-out of boot; soft insoles; warm!

| I was expecting much better by the rave reviews, i work outside in the mountains in new zealand only for 3 hours a day and not constant. My feet were cold in 0 degrees, and they were a bit damp. They are quite wide around the top. They look nice and are warm if u are not in the snow.... | |
