Dry, waterproof comfort, safety features, and an extremely comfortable, baggy fit make The North Face's Monte Cargo Pant an easy choice for a day in the terrain park. Specifications based on size Large.

When it’s really dumping the pant-a-lock system allows you snap this pant to your The North Face jacket for complete protection from the worst storms. The Chimney Venting System and inner-thigh vents dump excess heat when you work up a sweat, and six pockets store everything you’ll need for your next snorkel session.

The North Face's Chimney Venting System and StretchVent gaiters help circulate air on warm spring days, and plenty of pockets give you space for your mountain essentials.
I could sit here and write a bunch of stuff about why the Monte Cargo pants are technically superior, but I don't need to. The Monte Cargo pants were picked by many of The North Face's athletes as their pants of choice. I'd much rather let their athlete's recommend than some tool in the office. With four pockets, you have plenty of room for all your 'stuff. and with the Chimney Venting system you can air it out at any time. Smart!

Rugged cargo pants that deliver waterproof, breathable protection, The North Face Monte Cargo Pant for Men are as roomy as they are tough.

My Favorite Pants. | |

Scored the OD Digi-Camo print version on clearance last spring, and when i tried them on, i couldn't wait for winter. Super comfy, super functional. Front pockets are perfectly-positioned like jean pockets are. Thigh vents are quite useful, cargo pockets are sized and positioned just right. Somehow, TNF got the baggy look just right, while getting them to actually fit like tailored pants should fit -- without an excessively long rise in the crotch (like lots of ski pants i've tried) or any sag in the seat. Soft liner is good down into the low '20's -- beyond that throw on some thermals and/or long socks and you're golden. At 5'10 the Large is perfect in every way except the length, which is a bit long for me. I have to roll up the back of the cuff an inch when not wearing snow boots. Still, if i could wear these to work, i would -- i practically live in these pants.

they rock | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I've had these pants in all conditions in just a few weeks time, they rock. Warm, dry and breath very well. I've hiked on 40+ degree days, skied thigh deep pow, and been in 10 degrees with the wind ripping. They handle it all. The only layering I do on the really cold days is CWX insulated tights. They have just the right amount of baggieness to look good. The only down fall is the top pockets are wortless. Bad positioning and small they work well as a pass pocket if your at a resort with the RF tecknowledgy. But the cargos make up for any pocket space you may need. Overall very happy with them.

Worth the money | |

Overall, this is a good pant. I initially though they would be too baggy however that is not the case. The pocket set up is ideal for all types of skiing and the venting is a bonus as well. The only problem I had with these pants is they are not super durable. With in a few days of riding I already had small cuts in the inner boot region. If these pants had some re-enforcing panels in that location they would be sweet! Nice color selection too. These pants will be cool to have in another 15 years when neon colors come back again!

Super Comfortable | |

I picked up these pants on sale in March and I thought I would just stow them away for ski season next year. I ended up climbing my first Colorado 14er in these pants in early April. They were super comfortable, fit great, and the venting zippers worked tremendously well. Temperature ranged from 35 at base to near white out 15 degrees at 14,300 feet - never felt too hot or cold. I would definitely recommend. I am 5'10.5" 32 waist - medium size fit like a glove.

I like them | |

I find these pants great, they are very comfortable and, according to my wife, good looking. They are not to heavy, but are worm enough (for temperatures below 0 C I most often have a good baselayer). Cargo pockets are useful for snowboarding, and vents are great when you're indoors (or just driving). Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase

Very comfortable | |

I sent these back because they were a little baggy for my taste. However, the lining is very comfortable, and the pants offer a lot of freedom to move. The front pockets aren't so hot. I replaced with the North Face Liberation Pant. They were Gore-Tex and similarly priced.

| I just retired a pair of pants after 8 years, and was looking for comparible quality. Fit is good. Construction is solid. I like the pocket placement. So far I am very pleased with this pair. I will update you in 8 years. | |
