This coat is amazing!! We live outside of Fairbanks, AK and have crazy low temps during the winter. Last winter, we reached -61 degrees!! My son lives in his Nupse, often with only a short sleeve tee shirt under it. He snowboards, sled, skis, and everything else in this coat. It has held up to one wild 10 year old boy. We purchased a second one, due to his ridiculous growth spurts and we are just as amazed with that one as well. He never complains about being cold or hot. It is one amazingly awesome coat! It will not disappoint!!
Bought this for my 6 year old son. He loves it! He has never fussed about it being too bulky - he's still able to play on the playground, buckle himself in the car, etc. And he's never complained about being cold, and it's been through mid-twenties temps and snow. The down makes this jacket lightweight and warm! And it can zip into a shell, making it very versatile. Definitely a great choice and would repurchase when a bigger size is needed. And as always, Zappos was stellar! Wish more companies cared to have the same kind of service.
It's a nice Jacket for the fall or spring, however in the winter time my son will need to use an extra layer underneath. Definitely can't wear this jacket alone (it's a thin jacket). I bought the size 10/12 and the Jacket runs true to size. My son is 10 years old and 57 inches tall, 62 pounds. He still has room to wear a thick sweatshirt or a fleece underneath it.

This jacket my son got for christmas and he has loved it every day that he wears it. That is the only jacket he ever wears in the winter. It keeps my son very warm and is great for a snow day! It also looks very nice and it is a very expensive jacket for a kid but it pays off in no time!
This jacket is the best purchase I have made. I read the review prior to purchasing this for my 11 year old very active boy, and it was perfect. It is not bulky at all, good to play basketball with without feeling restricted, and it looks great on. It's soft enough to squeeze into his book bag. I highly recommend this product.
I ordered this for my 11 year old son, who is on the shorter side (4'8") slimmer side (70 lbs.) and we originally ordered the Size 10-12. It was too small and we ordered up. It fits perfectly in length and sleeve length. Very toasty and not too "puffy". Great quality as usual, I would just order a size up.
The North Face jacket that my son outgrew was good, but very heavy and stiff/bulky. He likes this one much better as it is light and soft, yet really warm. It is a great coat that I would buy again.
