Great Pants | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
This is the best pair of paints I have purchased in a long time. I have used them for work, biking, weekend wear, and xc skiing over light thermal layer. They are cool on hot days, warm on cool days and simply exceptional. I have to admit I bought a pair in both colors after trying the first pair. The material is much tougher than I expected but still thin. Two minor issues. 1.) Cat hair clings to them like no one's business. ;) and 2.) The zippered pocket on the right side does not need to be there. If you cut the dangly thing then this is not nearly as obnoxious but in future Patagonia paramount designs they should wake up and remove this. The only other thing that I would like to say is this a great bike commuting pant. Weather-resistant and the buttons near the calf allow you to roll up the paint and button easily while riding. I have worn either of the two pairs now for two weeks since I purchased and that is no lie. Enjoy!

A great outdoor pant | |

| I bought one of these in asphalt grey as an alternative to the official BSA uniform trousers for Venturing. Those cost over $65.00 each and are made of cotton canvas duck cloth - lots of pockets but not a quick-dry garment. The DWR nylon outside gives good moisture repellency for light amounts but don't throw away your raingear. It is much quicker drying than any cotton pant. The abrasion resistance appears superb second only to Cordura but with a softer nap and feel against your skin. The tricot mesh lining enhances these trousers for a comfortable feel all day. The lightweight nature makes this a great backpacking pant. They don't wrinkle like some nylon fabrics (e.g. windbreakers) can when folded or stuffed. The 2 hidden zipper pockets help protect you from losing the car keys. The side utility pocket is just right for holding things but I wouldn't put anything valuable in there. | |

Best Travel Pants Ever | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
Just got back from a 3.5 month trip to China, Nepal and India. I wore these pants about 50% of the days. The biggest selling point to me was their versatility in terms of comfort. I wore them in every sort of climate ranging from torrential downpours in China during a typhoon, hiking at 17,000 ft in the snow in Nepal and walking through a desert in western India. They worked in pretty much every climate. For those who intend to take these on trips, the 2 zip pockets were also excellent...especially the one that GH found to be annoying in his review. It might not be needed if you are just using them at home. But its highly useful if you're looking to stash your wallet in a pocket that won't be immediately obvious (and accessible) to pickpockets.

invincible pantalones

The pockets on these pants are set up very well. They're also thin enough to roll up for a little climbing.(there's even buttons and straps in each leg so you can keep them rolled.) I'm 6'3" and bought the long pair but if you're shorter than that, I would recommend the regulars. Also if you'd rather have a little waist room, you should order a size up. The durability and functionality of these pants is off the charts. I've worn these pants for a lot of yard work and on a few acents and hikes. My paramounts have yet to catch a snag. If there was a super hero league of pants, the north face paramount utilities would always be around to save the day.

Great pant that can double as dress or casual

| Only had these pants on a couple trips but so far they seem to be the perfect travel pants. Light-weight but fabric is more substantial than many other travel pants that feel too flimsy. Any wrinkles fall out rapidly when pants are hung up (or while you wear them). Quick drying also and the asphalt gray pants that I have are a perfect travel color for not showing dirt. Finally, great that they come in 34 inch inseam. Would love to find get a navy blue pair. How come no one is making navy travel pants? | |

Nice, but had to return | |

These seem like really nice pants, I wanted them, but unfortunately for me , I'm a 35 in. waist and the pants only come 34 or 36 in. One too tight, one too big. I opted for N.F. Paramount convertible pant which has the advantage of an adjustable built in belt and stretch waist construction so you can dial in the comfort. I also bought N.F. Meridian pant which has similar waist const. Both pants come in a short length. Come on ladies, 35 in. waist... short inseam... I'm a catch!

I now have two pairs of these pants. I haven't had ANY trouble with them. For sizing, my waist is 30" but size 30 in these pants is a little too tight for me. The 32 fits me perfectly. I also had a seamstress add drawstrings in the cuffs at the ankles so I could cinch them up to my knees. Might be something North Face should consider adding for a little more versatility. GREAT PANTS!!!

TNF nailed it! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I'm not a brand junkie by any means, but TNF has scored with this product. 3 days in mist and rain in Macau, and for as light as they are, I stayed warm and unexpectedly dry for the most part. Pants were completely dry after being indoors for ten minutes. Great security pockets, back pockets are large and deep enough to carry a passport size wallet. Extremely packable and they don't wrinkle. Good Stuff!

Nice Pair | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
Pardon the pun, but these are nice pants. They fit well, although somewhat baggier than I imagined, looking at the photo prior to ordering. Also, I had read some reviews that stated that the pants ran short, so I ordered them in the long. I am 6 foot 1, and wish that I had ordered them in the regular. I like the side pocket that is useful, but not overtly conspicuous. I recommend.

i bought these for my man for christmas. We have already used them to go rock climbing at the gym, on a hike, and to take the dog out as he splashed rampantly through the lake. Through chalk, dirt, mud, and dog slobber these pants survived it all. No tears, no marks, easy to wash and dry. We recommend hang drying. Super fast dry and great fit. Have fun with em!

Quality Control | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I like these pants. They are low maintenace, easy to pack, and look quite presentably, which is why I own several pair. However, I am disappointed with the last pair I bought from Altrec. The pants were missing a waistband button, something that could have easily been checked before shipping. Now I have got to go through the hassle of a return. To make things worse, there are no exchanges and I must purchase the same pants again. | |
