The North Face Powerstretch Glove Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I've only had these out about ten times but enough to form an opinion. First, the fit for me is right on the money. I was looking for something low profile that I could use with my poles that would provide good wind resistance while providing some warmth. These do the trick perfectly. I also don't like having to remove my gloves to do simple chores around camp and I've found these to serve that purpose well.
Because of their design they can also work under heavier gloves and have proven to be relatively weather resistant. They're not waterproof though so keep that in mind.
While there is an extra piece of material sewn in between the thumb and forefinger, a heavy use area for poles, I did notice some pilling almost immediately on the little finger. Not sure about the long-term durability with these but I've had good luck with TNF in the past.
I also appreciate the very small and inconspicuous buckle that allows you to snap the two gloves together when not in use.
If you can grab these on one of Backcountry's great sales I'd say these gloves are a winner.

A good balance between mobility and cold blocking

Decent form fitting gloves. They fit well, feel good, and block out wind and cold. Good range of motion when wearing them. They aren't super warm but they're a good compromise between bulky winter gloves and those thin cheap knit gloves. Being form fitting they'll fit underneath weatherproof or thicker gloves. I mainly got them because I get really cracked and dry hands in the winter but don't like wearing the bulky winter gloves all the time. And knit gloves sometimes get loose ends that get stuck on my cracked skin. These gloves I actually want to wear because they are comfortable and I can still use my hands when wearing them; so my poor cracked knuckles and hands get protected from the wind and cold well enough for my needs. Plus they come with a small sewn in clip to clip them together when not in use.

I was looking for something to keep my hands a little warmer during cool winter backpacking on the Northcoast of CA... I didn't need anything bulky, and I like to have all my digits fully functional when on the trail, so these gloves seemed to fit the bill just fine. They are the perfect temperature, not too warm (my hands get sweaty in some gloves, not these!), but sufficient enough to protect me from temps around 35*F... my only complaint is that there isn't any grip on these gloves. There should be some bits of silicone or something on the finger tips to give you something to grab with. When I was reaching for my 8oz. fuel canister it was pretty slippery in the smooth grip of this glove. If this glove had a few strips of grippiness, I'd give it 5 stars...

Decent

The fit of this glove is really nice and it looks very nice. It fits snug and does not appear bulky. I can still feel some cold air getting through when it is really cold outside, but I expected that from the other reviews. I just wanted a glove that keeps my hands warm enough for short distances and for driving. I just tested this out in the snow and it kept water from getting in, so overall really pleased with the purchase.

Powerstretch Glove

I’ve used these gloves on runs up to 6 miles in 30 degree weather with no issues. They also make nice driving gloves when it gets cold. Dexterity with the gloves on doesn’t take a significant hit; you should still be able to operate a standard jacket/pant zipper with them on. While they may not stand alone in really frigid temperatures for extended periods of time, they do hold up well when active in cold weather.

I use these gloves on cold days for everyday use and they have stood up to the challenge. They are lightweight, good fitting and surprisingly warm. I use them also as a mitten liner so I like a tight fit and these are perfect for that. My only complaint is the dexterity of the glove isn't the best, but the glove wasn't designed with grip in mind. Overall, great gloves!!!

Normally I have problem to get gloves that fits my hand (S) but these gloves fits me perfect. They are very comfortable and warm, not too thin as I was expecting, so far my only complaint or improvemet could be add some grip.

jc_p404880 at Backcountry.com on 03/17/2013

I use them a lot, they are good for driving and in cold weather temps from 10 degrees and above

Negative Reviews:

Great for about a month

The exact gloves I was looking for, perfect sleek fit until they started to fall apart in three difference places. I've literally had them a month. My last pair of north face gloves, I've had for years without a problem so I'm not sure why these didn't last. Waste of $35!

Neutral Reviews:

Had to get the extra large for a comfortable fit.
Nice material, stretches well. Warmth is there. Not
to thrilled about the thumb-forefinger guard? padding? patch. It's like they added it on as an after
thought. There's plenty of edge after the sewing seam that catches on everything. Not happy about it.

gary beil at Backcountry.com on 12/02/2012

These are nice fitting gloves, however they are not very warm and are not water proof. You could use these gloves and do thing with them do to the tight fitting.

My Husband says they were comfortable, fit well, but not very warm.
