The Prophet 45 is The North Face's premier lightweight alpine assault pack. The lightweight carbon-fiber X-Frame suspension mirrors the rotational movement of the body so you don't fight the load and create undue fatigue.

For those wanting to travel lighter and reach the summit faster, The North Face® Prophet 45 with its unique suspension is the pack of choice. 2,500 to 3,000 cubic inch capacity.

The Prophet 45 is our premier lightweight alpine assault packs for heavy loads of mountaineering pursuits.
When you need a streamlined pack for your fast-and-light summit approach, look to The North Face Prophet 45 Backpack to get the job done. Load up your gear, secure your ice axe into one of the multiple tool loops, and make a push for the peak. You'll shoulder your gear in comfort thanks to this lightweight backpack's molded E-VAP back panel and shoulder straps, and body-forming hip-belt. If you need to bring a bit more gear, this Summit Series Backpack expands by 20L (1220cu in) to accommodate your puffy and extra food. Removable aluminum stays let you cut down the Prophet 45's already paltry weight, and a removable bivy pad has your back for those unexpected nights below the summit.

"I have logged a ridiculous number of days in the Prophet. It is on my back on every expedition as well as every day I guide in the winter in the White Mountains. Simply put, it's one of the best all around ice/mountaineering backpacks we've ever had." – Mark Synnott, The North Face® Climber/Alpinist.

great pack | |

| A good weekend pack, although I've gone out for a week in the fall in the north cascades with this pack. Holds heavy loads well but prefers a medium-sized load the best. Great for back-country ski trips and weekend winter trips. A good all around pack for the price. Great compression straps and the external crampon pouch can hold just about anything in that size range even a 1 liter nalgene bottle. The only way that it could be better is if it had a bit more volume. | |

Perfectly basic. | |

This is the pack I use for really big ski tour days, ie Mt. Rainier. Its big enough for a night or two out, also. Great weight distribution, not over tech with features, just a killer, basic design for climbing and skiing huge mountains. I would go smaller for just a day-tour pack, but when you need extra food, gear, and clothes, this is my ideal size. | |

| Used this pack on sunday, fits very comfortably. Seems ideal for gear sports like ice climbing or rock climbing. The double pockets on the top are interesting and are designed so they probably won't wear out the zippers like other packs. | |
