The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket

Men's Clothing > Jackets & VestsRated: 5 by 19 reviews.

Altrec

A highly versatile midweight fleece, The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket for men is one of the most indispensable items for year-round outdoor adventures. Some fleece are too thick for summer backpacking, other fleece is too thin for anything except middle layering, but the Pumori is just right with midweight Polartec® 200 Series fleece. You can wear it as a middle layer in the winter (it is zip-in compatible and zips into other jackets made by The North Face--just remember to pick the same size) or wear it as outerwear on camping trips. The one thing that the Pumori Jacket doesn't have is the nylon reinforcement panels along the shoulders like the slightly heavier Denali Jackets by The North Face. That means that if you backpack or climb extensively with a pack, you may notice minor pilling and wear abrasion beneath the straps.

  • Fabric: Polartec 200 Series fleece
  • Hem cinchcord

Too early to tell, but coat appears well made

Rating:****

I'll start this review and share that I received the coat for Christmas '09 so I can't offer up the type of review I like to read about the wear and tear and durability of outer gear...not simply...it looks nice and feels good...which it does.

With that being said, after much research this jacket was purchased because its made from polartec materials which I love. This jacket is replacing a 12 year old Columbia polartec that finally bit the bullet after being used as a layer on many daily freezing cycling, running and hiking excursions.

Things I like about this jacket include,,,,warm, but not overly bulky, zip down side pockets to open, elastic draw string pulls on both sides of coat and the inch of fabric that extends past the zipper to ensure no wind blows through zipper.

I'll leave a another post in a couple of years after its been used a bit.

A Nice, Solid Product

The Pumori is a Polartec 200 series fleece. No, it's neither windproof nor waterproof. It's a 200 fleece!! It's lightweight, not too thick and has the cuff snaps and zipper which will allow it to be attached to any North Face shell that permits it. You can layer under it if you want but I think that it works best as the underlayer of a shell. The Pumori has been around a long time and will probably continue to be because it just works.

Of course it's the greatest!!

My 22-year old son LOVED this XL jacket for his birthday. It does run a little big but I personally like that look...and it allows you to layer underneath it. In terms of sizing, he's around 5'11", 160 pounds and fit. The Large would have fit him but might have been too short in length. This is a great, high quality jacket - enjoy!

Perfect!

My boyfriend bought this fleece a couple of weeks ago. It fits perfectly, it was an AWESOME price, and he wears it literally all the time. The color goes with everything and he says it's very warm. He can layer it with his Denali too so that's a plus.

Best Jacket Ever !!!!!

I bought this jacket in September. I live in Arizona and usually dont wear jackets all to often. But the jacket is amazing. I have worn it all winter. The temperatures are about 40-60 degrees. I am warm, the wind never penetrates the jacket. This jacket is awesome.

great coat

have had 2 of these coats over 3 years. Absolutely love the fit, feel, and utility. this under a light raincoat makes a winter coat for me (from Alaska). looks great on a slim build, something hard to find any more.

good fleece

Zips in perfectly to same-sized TNF shell to form a very warm coat. Only complaint is when zipped together there is no zip-able inner pocket (the fleece jacket has two deep but open inside pockets).

Great Jacket

I purchased this jacket for my 16 year old son. He loves it, it's not to heavy, and it's just perfect for cold days. I do recommend this jacket. Very Nice!!!

Great for 40 degrees and above!

Just got the jacket, So far so good. Only thing I could say is sizes run big and you will need layers underneath for colder weather. Otherwise great jacket!!!

Purchased as a gift for my father, I have a North Face Apex Bionic. The fleece lives up to the brand and I will probably order one as well.
