Funny name, good shoe | |

I have to admit, I'm not a runner, but I have these shoes and I promise, I do a fair amount of hiking and other activities. These have been holding up pretty good for a running shoe. I got them about a month ago and have hiked a handful of times in them. The orthodic that is in the shoe has a raised heal area which is nice to help you feel supported but I find it slightly irritating after a little while. But you can always switch those out for your own if they bother you. The mesh is really nice for breathability as long as you aren't bushwacking. I found that some smaller weeds found their way into my shoe. But I used them for some burly rock scrambling and bushwacking and my feet were about the only thing to not overheat and was fairly comfortable the whole time. And they stuck to rock pretty well. I usually have rubbing the first few times that I wear a shoe but experienced no such thing. Pretty good shoe!

I bought these shoes for well groomed to rough groomed trails. Something in between my running shoes and my full blown hiking boots. I followed a friends tip and wore them to an agricultural fair in order to get a little wear on the treads before I tried them on a trail. After a full day at the fair I tried these shoes on a short trail near my house that included wooden bridges, one moderate incline studded with tree roots, steps and packed dirt.

Nice Bright Shoe | |

| I'm not a hiker or runner. I teach school and wear running or trail shoes when I teach b/c they are comfortable and have good support. I haven't worn these yet b/c I ordered the wrong size, but they did feel good when I tried them on. I'm going to return and order my correct size. I wear a 7 1/2 , but ordered an 8 by mistake. The 8 is a little big on my foot so that's how I know they're running true to size. I LOVE the bright yellow color, that's a plus for me. | |

| I got the Rucky Chucky for my 12 year old son who has a condition called "flexible flat feet" with heel/arch problems. He usually wears a men's narrow size 7, but the women's regular size 10 fits his long narrow foot. He says his new shoes are awesome because they were immediately comfortable, lightweight, rugged for all his outdoor activities, great-looking, and they don't make his feet too hot. He still has to wear an orthotic support inside the Rucky Chucky until his bones stop growing faster than his tendons and ligaments. | |

Rucky Chuckys ROCK | |

| I just got mine and love them. I wear orthodics so the cushioning problem is NOT a problem for me. Yes they are a little bit clunky, but they are made for the trails and I run on the trails a lot and love the GTX. I said I would not EVER own a pair of GTX running shoes (old school) but now I cannot be without them in the woods. With all the rain this year, this is the shoe! Oh and they are comfortable too. | |

My all-time fave trail shoe

My favorite trail running shoe--I run in Tahoe on trails with sharp rocks, and these hold up quite well and are nice and grippy. The fit is great, I have a pretty standard foot and these feel like a traditional fit. They feel great hiking, as well, and I only run on a little bit of pavement but haven't noticed a problem there at all.

Tough Trail Shoe | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| As I tend to supinate, these shoes are a bit too stiff for me to run more than 5 or 6 miles. However they performed well on my wooded trail. Traction was good in muddy areas. But stay away from puddles as they are not very water resistant. I ran trough a heavily dew covered field and my socks got wet. | |

Like SUVs for your feet | |

| I've tried other "trail shoes", but my Rucky Chuckys are the only ones that provide traction over anything the trail can offer up (ok, except ice). Plus, Gore-Tex! I've gotten four of my friends to order their own pairs and they feel the same. And I've gotten myself the same pair without Gore-Tex for summer runs. Rucky Chuckys forever! | |

| I wouldn't expect anything less from North Face, but these shoes are great. I have a high arch which can easily start to hurt after 5+ miles of hiking, but not in these shoes. They fit great, contour to my feet well, and have an amazing grip. I definitely recommend! | |

| I purchased two pairs of these shoes, one for myself and one for my daughter. We both have hard to fit feet and the Rucky's fit us both great! We speed walk through fields and woods and these shoes are perfect for our activity. | |

I was looking forward to getting these shoes after reading the reviews, but was disappointed when I received them because they were too loose in the heels and lacked cushioning.

| I got these sneakers for a triathlon in which you have to run/hike. I used them last weekend for a fairly difficult hike and I was disappointed in the lack of cushioning. I almost felt like I was walking on barefooted towards the end of the hike. They were okay but not a 5 star shoe for me. | |
