The North Face TKA 100 Microvelour Pant Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

These pants are super warm & very comfortable. I was slightly disappointed when I got them as I thought the fabric would kind of drape and hang off your hips but as they are a fleece, they are a bit more firm/slightly stiff. That said, they are still really comfy. For sweat pants, the fit is relatively flattering but I still wouldn't be overly keen to wear them outside the house.
I too found the sizing to run a bit big... I bought my usual TNF size (small) but should have gone for the XS. They have a drawstring around the waist, so I haven't bothered to exchange for the smaller size - they are fine for lounging around at home. I am 173cm (5ft 6), 62kg (136lb).
One of the side seams came undone near my hip on my 2nd wear, which surprised me but nothing a needle & thread couldn't fix.
Despite the slight disappointment of them being a bit more casual than I thought, I find myself diving into these as soon as I get home from a long day at work!

I agree with the other reviewers that these pants run big. I'm normally a size S in things - 125 lbs - and I would probably need an XS in these but don't feel like returning them (plus, they don't have an XS anymore on BC.com). The only reason they fit is because I am able to tighten the drawstring waist - and even then they're a little loose around the waist. Since they're "comfy pants" that I plan to just wear around the house, this is fine by me - what woman doesn't like a little extra give around the waist? The length is good - I'm 5'5" - they drag a little on the ground, but I prefer that look to the "waiting for the flood" look. The great thing about these pants is that they are super soft and cozy - I feel like relaxing the second I put them on. They are also, as advertised, warm. All in all, not a great pant but a really good one.

These are beautiful warm pants but they truly run huge. I am 5'1 140 lbs, 30 of those lbs around the waist :( . I ordered the mediums, way to big. Sent them back for smalls, still way to big. Crazy since most North Face items run small. Length was long for me on all but then again I'm short. Backcountry is wonderful though with returns and customer service so I ordered the North Face Glacier pant in boys XL and L. The large ones fit great all over including length. Hope this helps other buyers.

Soft comfortable fleece

Very soft, comfortable fleece pant. I'm 5'5'' 125 lbs and the small/short length fit nicely. They are a little loose in the waist but the drawcord fixes that. The XS was too tight in the thighs and behind. Overall fits true to size (I am a small in most major brands). There is some nice stretch to the material. Great on cool (not cold) fall days and to snuggle in around the house. Could use elastic waistband in addition to drawcord for a better fit. Overall I am very happy with these.

I love this pants, they are very plush and warm ( yet very lightweight). The rear pocket is easy to get to and its big enough for lip balm, keys, and maybe an mp3. I am 5'8 and I got the long inseam and their just the right length. A note about sizing, they def. run large, I usually wear large in sweatpants but I got medium and I should have gotten small, if it wasn't for the drawstring waist, I would have had to send them back.

Kat C at Backcountry.com on 05/25/2013

I'm 5'3 and weigh 135 lbs. I carry a lot of my weight in my legs and rear, and these pants look great! I got a medium and they're perfect for my build -- small waist but bigger lower half. They are a little long on me, but everything is when you're 5'3! Material is wonderfully soft. I would say they'd be in the size 8 - 10 range, leaning more toward the size 10.

ccs4989761 at Backcountry.com on 01/17/2012

I am 5'5'', 135lb and the Small/Short fit ok, but they were just slightly baggy in the hip area. The drawstring would help with this, but I really wish there was elastic or something else. I'm not a fan of the drawstring. I'm going to reorder the XS/Short if they have it, but if not I'll try the XS regular and hope it just comes with a shorter inseam.

matp489364 at Backcountry.com on 11/09/2013

I have return this pant only because it was too large. I reorder it in my correct size in both the black and heather. I live where it gets super cold and these pants will be great for a casual trip to the movies or our favorite bar when the weather is too cold. Very comfortable, very soft and very warm.

dmhp73968 at Backcountry.com on 10/08/2012

I love the feel of these pants both to the touch and wearing them. They run a bit large--I wear a 4 and take the extra small in these pants. I like the style but I might replace the drawstring with elastic just because I am a bit lazy. They are super comfy and hold their shape well in between washings.

Wow, these pants are beyond cheesy. The Walmart version of North Face. The material is cheap and the pants do not stay up- the waist tie is light cotton and doesn't hold a knot. I bought these hoping they would be suitable for lounging around the house after reading other reviews, but you can totally do better. Save your money.

Negative Reviews:

Sheds

The pant fits great, is incredibly comfortable and warm, however it sheds badly from the inside. I wear them around the house, but leave small black balls of fluff everywhere that need to be vacuumed up at least once a day because there are so many! Rubbing the inside of the pant (the outer surface is fine) causes the fleece to clump up into little balls which can easily be picked off. I washed it, but it didn't help. Too bad - I looked so long for a nice fleece pant:(
cantoo at The North Face on 11/28/2013

not like the previous pant

I agree with another customer that the pant now out is different and does not fit nearly as well as the previous version. The current 2012/2013 TKA sweatpant is baggy, long and just not the same as those I had ordered in the past. I would not order these again. They had been my favorite lounging pant ( I had 2 before) but I don't want to waste my $ .

Neutral Reviews:

I ordered these pants for travel as a substitute for sweat pants. They are warm, light-weight, and take up little room in my bag. They fit, but the first time I pulled them over my hips several stitches popped. I had to reinforce the waistband with zig-zag stitches to keep them from unraveling.

timetraveler at Backcountry.com on 01/11/2012

if you are atleast 5'9" don't bother getting unless they have these pants in 'long'. Otherwise good pants. I'm pretty disappointed since i love TNF.

Mixed feeling

Odd style. Purchased both colors in XS and felt black has different shape than gray
