the north face venture pant

| Here in the Northeast,we have had a wet cold climbing season thus far. The men's North Face Venture pant and a light weight baselayer was all that was needed to ward off the cold rainy weather we have had at the Gunks. I could not have chose a better pant for the job. The only gripe I have is that the knees need a little more reinforcing. Climbing rock requires that your pants be durable. After twenty pitches the knees are starting to show some wear, but overall these pants are great. They rival any GoreTex pant for waterproofness I have in my arsenal. Thanks Altrec and thanks to The North Face for a fantastic product at the best price found anywhere. | |

| So far, so good. I'm 6'0, 150, and the mediums fit very well. The fit on the Venture pants is slightly bigger than the Marmot Precip pants, which I also tried. I bought these primarily for golf, for use on rainy days. I have played a number of times with these already, and, even with some very heavy and prolonged rains, these pants have kept me completely dry. They are lightweight, windproof, and are working just as advertised. I'm very pleased with my purchase! | |

| Just got them today so I havn't been in the rain yet, (its snowing here anyways) But these pants are just what I was hoping for. Well built, lightweight, decent looking, and waterproof (I hope!) They pack down nice. Can't wait for the rainy days on the trails this summer! I'm 5'11 and wear a 32", and the medium reg fits perfectly over my pants-for those of you wondering about sizes. | |

I am very glad I have these pants. They allow me to go outside in all kinds of weather, and I need to do so. I have a dog, and now I am able to follow her in the high grass and in the woods, and I never get wet. Beautiful pants. Theyre very good and practical, there are even two zippered pockets like in normal pants.

| great thing for outdoor activities: hiking, cycling or any kind of wintersports, you can use them for 4 seasons, these pants will protect you from wind, rain and even snow, but these pants are very thin so don't forget to wear warm liners under them for winter actvities. BUY THEM, you wont find better product for this price!!! | |

| The rain was really bad and I stood in the rain for the whole day. my pants under didn't get any water on them. I also had a easy time putting my shoes through the legs and with the zipper on the legs it makes for on and off use painless. | |

Combine these pants with TNF Venture jacket and you have the perfect waterproof set for hitting the backcountry. The pants (and jacket) are super lightweight and pack into the left pocket, which makes them perfect for stuffing into your overcrowded pack. Highly recommend, great product.

| A great alternative to fleece pants. They are wind and water proof and very light weight. I just retunred from a trip where the temprature hit 20 degrees and wore the pants over running tights. They kept me warm and dry. | |

| Great fit and excellent construction all around. Folds up into a tiny package just as advertised, all in all a good deal. The North Face comes across again with a fine product and Altrec has it at a great price. | |

Zipper busted | |

I was wearing these pants during a sleet storm hiking the AT section of the Smokie Mountains and the right pocket zipper broke (separated) and would not rezip. Precipitation entered via the broken pocket resulting in a wet leg and socks. Not a very pleasant experience.

"Decent waterproof pants."
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I used these pants during a 3 week trip on the AT. I have never had waterproof pants, but these were not quite what I was expecting. Everyone seems to be praising the pants for their breathability, but they seemed rather stuffy to me. Maybe they are more breathable than other similar waterproof pants. When it poured, the pants definitely kept the rain water out, but they got very damp on the inside from my own perspiration. Also, I still had to take my mid-sized boots off in order to get the pants on. The zippers did not go high enough. | |

Nice | |

These are nice pants, they are thin though. If you're in cold weather, you definitely want a base layer. The zipper on these pants broke within the fist two or three zips. Hopefully just a problem with this pair though. Otherwise, they're good for the price.

Lacks an inner liner | |

| Not a bad running pant but they lack an inner mesh liner. With that they would be great. | |
