Sweet Shell
I use this as part of a two part system. I use a heavy or light weight fleece, and this, or a rain proof, wind proof, breathable jacket like it. So does my whole family on our out door adventures - extended back pack trips etc. I've been doing this for years. You're good for any weather, wet or dry, right down into the 20s. Don't forget to also get a good pair of rain pants to go with it if you expect to stay dry and not get all that water wour nice jacket just shed on to your pants.
This jacket is light and packs tightly. So, if your lucky and you don't end up using it you don't feel bad about taking it along. It does seem to be sized a tiny bit on the trim side, so you might order up a size if you're afraid the size/fit might be close. It's just right for me, at 6' 1" and 44 in the chest.
Performance: I havn't had a chance to try this particular jacket in inclement weather yet. The five mitute shower test however did pretty well. Some water did get throught the closed pockets. But, that's with making sure the stream was squirting into the pocket cover flaps. Other wise, no water through the jacket. I was particularly impressed with the hood. Usually these drive me crazy with visability issues. This one doesn't, and still sheds water well - not down your neck.

Amazing Jacket
This jacket is by far the best north face rain jacket out there. it is great as just a rain jacket on warm days, but can be an excellent shell to layer under on colder days. the jacket is way better than the resolve because there are actually pit zips and velcro cuffs. additionally, the hood is adjustable and fits better than the resolve. the jacket is extremely lightweight too. the only thing is you might want to order a size up so it won't be such a snug fit or so you can have room to layer under. I am 5'10 and ordered a large. it fits me fine. overall, a very good jacket
Love it.. Nice and dry
I though for the price it was not going to work out well, But I think it's worth every penny. Did a three day rock Climbing trip and every night we got stuck in some heavy rain and I walked out dry.. Not a drop inside the acket. I read a lot of peple's complains about this Jacket, but when this wears out I wil buy once more. I also like how it has a zipper inside for you to add a light jacket inside it. So I zipped a fleece liner in my... Perfect for hanging out on the crag while belaying a climber.. Love it....
Amazing Jacket
This is a great rain jacket. I bought a large and i am 5'10, 145 lbs. It fits me perfectly. There is ample room to layer up with a sweatshirt underneath on colder days. The zippers are pretty good and i have not had any problems on. the hand pockets are a bit shallow though, so make sure you zip the pockets up when you put stuff in. the pit zips are nice too, allowing ventilation. it is very waterproof and lightweight, easily folding up into a small bundle. I highly recommend this jacket. it is way better than the north face resolve jacket.
Great jacket
This is a great jacket for casual use or hiking in the backcountry. It works great with a light to mid weight fleece pullover or zip up underneath. It completely repels water and blocks wind as well. I will be purchasing a second one in another color. There are a great variety of colors and lifetime warranty can't go wrong. Pit zips work great and it stuffs into itself for easy

Great Jacket!
Ordered this jacket for my husband who is 6' 4" about 220 lbs. The 2xl is the perfect fit so that fleece can be worn underneath for extra warmth. I also have the women's jacket like this love it also!
Great everyday rain jacket
Went looking for a jacket I could wear during rainy weather around town, found it. Great looking jacket that does it's job. May not be best if stuck in a monsoon, but that's not what I bought it for!
Light and easy
It's been rainy in Northern California and this jacket is perfect for my husband who doesn't like to bundle up too much! It's light and waterproof.
