| Very nice - These shoes are exactly what I was looking for. They are sturdy and substantial, yet not as heavy or bulky as a true hiking shoe or boot. They are casual and sporty, yet not as casual as skater shoes like Simple of Vans. These aren't cheap, but the quality of construction appears consistent with the price. I cannot say how they will hold up, but I am optimistic. Out of the box, they are very comfortable and nicely padded. It seems like a good mix of stiffness and cushioning. They look good, since I was a little worried they would look odd based on the picture. I choose these over another pair of Keens (which I like, but always think they are a little goofy looking), and I'm glad I did. These look good in shorts and with jeans. Also, they are roomy in the toe box. | |

| The sizing was right on for me. I have a hard time because I have wide flat feet and these fit great. They look nice and I really like the eco friendly construction. It was a toss up between these and a pair of Simple shoes but I like the look on these more. My only complaint is that the gummy toe and heel is not attached very well. I have had the shoes for about a month now and the toe on one side has been gradually peeling back as well as the heel. I knew before purchasing though some other people had the same problem also. It is frustrating though because this is the most I have paid for a pair of shoes in quite some time. | |

have treated me well for 1.5 years
| Rating: | ![]() |
I have worn these shoes for probably more than half of all days over the last 1.5 years often in challenging terrains and they have remained comfortable, helped me maneuver safely, and have slowly started to break down, but not at a rate I would call abnormally fast for the amount of use.

| These are great. I've had them >6 months and they are holding up really well. The canvas has some minor fraying, but nowhere that is easily noticeable or critical. The rubber around the toe and heel has just started to loosen, but the heel is likely because I tend to kick off my shoes. I was looking to buy another pair, and got excited to find them on sale, but alas not in my size. Guess I'll just pay full price. | |

| Cool shoe. Looks awesome with anything. I'd rather have picked up the light tan ones but it's pretty tough finding those. The black and grey look fantastic, though, and are a better quality than I expected. Zappos was incredible, free shipping turned into free 2nd day shipping at no extra cost. These guys are all about customer service and it shows. I think I'll find myself picking up my next pair from Zappos. | |

| These shoes are great! They are comfy and classy. The only problems I had with them are 1) the portion around the toe and heel is about an 1/8 inch of gooish clear rubber which isn't accurately portrayed in the picture and 2) they fit just a tiny bit smaller than my North Face hiking boots so if you can't decide on a size, go big.. or go home. | |

| Mountain Sneaker - Bought these a couple weeks ago and so far I'm very pleased. The rubber around the toe is a little bit thicker than it looked in the picture but it still looks cool. They are a really good fit and have are plenty of room in the toe area. The liner on the inside looks really cool too. It's like this mountain scene. | |

| Great Shoes - I love these the second they came out of the box. Very comfortable and they look sweet with jeans. Not too heavy so they are good for lot's of walking around. Plus you can feel good with the fact that they are made from some recycled materials. They will leave scuff marks on the floor though. | |

| Mountain worthy - Well first off I'd like to say that my Mountain Sneaker's have kept together fine. I've taken them up hiking on wet mountain trails and the extra grip performed well. Long walking can result in toe cramping. Get some miles into them and the shoe does nicely. | |

These shoes are a bit on the heavy side. However, they seem to be extremely durable and they look good. I had a sizing issue and had to send them back for a half size larger. Overall I would say they are worth purchasing.

i loved these... loved | |

I heard great things about these shoes- and loved them. sure, a little heavier than I thought as well but really, really comfy. But I had them for two months, and didn't even wear them everyday (can't to work) and they were falling apart- the toe glue was coming off, the inside of the shoe near the hell was shredded, i mean shredded. I sent them back to TNF...on my dime of course, and have to wait 8 weeks to find out if I get a new pair or not... wonder why I no longer buy any The North Face gear...hmmmm

Doesn't last | |

| I love the looks of these shoes and that there are some recycled materials in them but they wear out fast. I couldn't even wear them after about 6 months. The laces frayed out and north face didn't have any to replace them. The heel cup pretty much feel apart. Poorly made shoes, I have other north face shoes that I love but unfortunately I would never buy a pair of these again. | |

| Shoddy Construction - The gummy lining around the toe and heel started peeling back after just one wear. I didn't even go hiking with them yet, I just wore them at home. I would think for a shoe called a mountain sneaker it would be made a bit sturdier. If you buy these, buy a tube of shoe goo, too. You'll need it to glue them back together. | |

Odd sizing. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I had a sizing issue with these shoes. I bought 2 pair, one 11.5 and one 12. 11.5 was way too small and the 12 was half size too big. One of them might have been a factory defect, not sure. Too bad, I liked the look of the shoes, they just dont fit right.

I loved this shoe for the first 2 months when I noticed the glue on the toe started to disintegrate. After wearing them for a good 4 months the whole shoe was coming apart. NF has gone down hill in my opinion!!??!! I plan on sending them back today.

| I bought these shoes and within the first month the rubber around the tip of the shoe was detaching from the rest of the shoe. | |

I loved these shoes; however, they are not very durable. One of them did not even last one year.

| Cool Shoes - Poor Sizing - Love the eco-tech construction and the shoes look great. Too bad they are sized half a size too small. I've never worn a 10 1/2 in my life, but these 10s are too small. Believe what the others say and start a half-size too big. It was too much of a pain to return them for the second time, so I just kept "my size" which were really a bit too small. Also, the natural rubber strips do start peeling a couple weeks in. Be prepared to glue them back on. | |

| Had them for 6 months - I bought these shoes 6 months ago, and they are about to be retired due to wear and tear. Like other reviews, the rubber toe and heel guard began falling off and tearing early on. The inside liner is now ripped as well. On the left shoe, the rubber bottom sole has separated from the bamboo part. They looked great when I got them, and I still love the design. I just wish they were a little sturdier. | |

Stylish and uncomfortable.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These shoes certainly look cool, but if you plan to actually walk in them they are quite uncomfortable. I think the "mountain sneaker" title is a misnomer, it should be the "carpet sneaker." There isn't any cushioning under your feet in this shoe, so it causes some aches and pains on the soles of your feet. I am going to buy an extra cushioning insole for these shoes though, because I like them anyways, and I'd like to be able to wear them out. | |

| Insoles - I bought these shoes because of there look and Environmental edge. After receiving them I found out that the insoles are glued in. I was a little disappointed in this as I usually put in my own after market insoles either immediately or after flattening out the originals. So while these shoes are comfortable now I am dreading having to tear and rip out the insoles in order to regain the comfort in the near future. | |

For casual use only. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| It is an alright shoe for casual wear. But after six months of use, the lining material on the inside of the shoe started to rip so that I had to use tape to repair it. Also, the "metal free" suede split open as well around the six month mark. Not a very durable shoe, I must say. [...] | |
