When a good night's sleep is priority one, the redesigned Thermarest BaseCamp Large sleeping pad comes to the aid of the camper. A 2 inch solid foam core offers greater thickness and more warmth than the previous version so the tired camper can crawl into their camping tent knowing a comfortable night's sleep is upon them. The self-inflating Thermarest BaseCamp Large sleeping pad is also designed to keep the soundly sleeping camper situated on the pad. A low-slip surface discourages slick nylon sleeping bags from drifting off the edge of the pad in the wee hours of the morning. For those who want to sneak a little luxury into the backcountry but also want to keep the weight manageable, be sure to check-out the narrower, shorter Thermarest BaseCamp Regular sleeping pad.
The Therm-a-Rest BaseCamp sleeping pad packs maximum comfort and warmth into a super affordable car-camping mattress. When you never carry your mattress more than the distance from your car to the tent, there's no reason to worry about weight—and every reason to make your base camp or car camping trip as comfortable as possible. With a full two-inch thick layer of solid-foam core, the BaseCamp provides superior warmth and comfort.
When home-sweet-home is the back of the car, you can count on Therm-a-Rest's Base Camp sleeping pad to serve up consecutive nights of sleeping comfort. This all-purpose mattress offers 2-inches of foam cushioning for sleep-time comfort and insulation from the often times cold ground.

The BaseCamp mattress is our most deluxe classic-style Therm-a-Rest® mattress—a straightforward design that’s been providing dependable comfort under the stars for over 35 years. Updated with the best available components, it features outstanding durability for frequent use and fast, effective and pump-free self-inflation. Plus it offers the portability you want when home is truly away from home.

This terrific, all-purpose, self-inflating camp mattress provides sleeping comfort for those over 6 feet tall--now with added thickness!

| This sleeping pad is not only superior to the old air mattresses or blue foam pads, it is better than a lot of hotel beds I've slept on! It rolls up easily to store in the stuff sack (sold separately) and self inflates without any hassle. I like mine a bit more firm than the self inflate, so three or four puffs of air and it's ready to sleep on. I've used this in cold and damp (14F - 50F) weather on some rather unpleasant terrain and never felt a bit of chill penetrate through the pad. This is one piece of gear that I simply will not leave home without! Words cannot truly convey the merits of waking up after a good nights sleep and actually feeling rested and ready to take on another day of trails. This sleeping pad is the backpacking equivalent of bringing a masseuse with you to work out the kinks and knots from a long day on the trail while you slumber peacefully through the night. I find that the few ounces of extra weight over other models is a fair trade for a good nights rest. | |

Can't beat this pad! | |

| You can't beat this pad for comfort and performance. I just spent a week on the west coast and the pad is all you can ask for. I have some back problems, so it's vital that I get a good night's rest and this pad is the ticket. Open the valve when you set up camp. By the time you're ready to turn in, give it a couple of good breaths to make it firm and it's ready to go. Adjusting it to your own comfort is a snap. Just lay down and let air out until it's comfortable, close the valve, and forget it. It's too heavy and too bulky for backpacking, but it's not billed as a backpacking pad. My son, who was with me, swapped me his 20" Thermarest for this pad. He also, snagged my 25" Thermarest Camp Chair. He came out pretty well on the deal. | |

I sleep on this every night

| No joke - my husband and I sleep on these every night and have for the past 7 years. We have a queen-size platform frame, and we just plopped these mattresses on there. Side-by-side, they make for a perfect queen bed (platform frame recommended), and we can each adjust our own side to our comfort. Sheets fit like a dream. I realize this wouldn't work for everybody, but it's perfect for us, it's a LOT cheaper than a mattress / spring set, and it doesn't absorb all of the icky gross stuff that mattresses do. Sleep well! | |

Great nights Sleep. | |

I got this for my wife last year and she loves it. I also used it once for a winter trip and felt the difference on the frozen ground. I always had the Therm-a-Rest ridge rest because of the light weight. But I used this pad on my last hike this summer, and I must admit for just a little extra weight you get a better nights sleep. I think it's time for my old bones to use a blow-up pad. Also, I really love the way it self inflates, very cool.

Got this for the girlfriend for our first camping trip together. Worked great. She slept like a log every night. The little amount of extra weight is totally worth it. Plus its amazing how well it self inflates. My therm is only 2 years old and I have to blow it up a fair amount, this one you let it sit for 15 minutes and in two puffs its perfect. One last thing the extra thickness lets you run it at a low psi and not feel any rocks. Get it!

Great pad but poor storage sac
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great pad, I use it for extended camping trips. ie months of overland travel and it works like a charm. One failing is the poor storage sac that comes with it. It's at least 1/3 to big in diamater. After rolling the pad up tight you want it to stay that way. I had to purchase a different stuff sack that was a tighter fit and had compression straps on. Great pad for a good nights sleep and that's what it's all about. | |

Awesome, but large | |

I got the large and I love it, except when I'm backpacking. My fault, I should gotten a smaller one.

Best night sleep in a tent.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is the Best Thing I have bought for camping in a long while. It's comfortable, quick setup, and warm on cold nights. It's also adjustable, you can just blow a little air in it to make it firmer or let some out of soften it up. The main thing I love about this is how warm you stay. Air mattresses have almost zero insulation factor, so you freeze. This is insulated and comfortable. You stay warm, sleep well, and wake up rested. | |

I have owned a Therm-a-Rest pads for over 10 years and never had an issue. This model is comfy, hard to beat 2 inches of foam.

Worth every penny! | |

| Beats the heck out of laying on the ground! Easy to use just unroll open valve and it does the rest. If you prefer a firmer pad you can add air by mouth. Be sure you opt for the storage bag. Not the most compact pad but it is comfortable. It is also a sure bet if you are laying on a slope you will wake up off of the pad because it is slick against a sleeping bag. | |
