When a good night's sleep is priority one, the redesigned Thermarest BaseCamp Large sleeping pad comes to the aid of the camper. A 2 inch solid foam core offers greater thickness and more warmth than the previous version so the tired camper can crawl into their camping tent knowing a comfortable night's sleep is upon them. The self-inflating Thermarest BaseCamp Large sleeping pad is also designed to keep the soundly sleeping camper situated on the pad. A low-slip surface discourages slick nylon sleeping bags from drifting off the edge of the pad in the wee hours of the morning. For those who want to sneak a little luxury into the backcountry but also want to keep the weight manageable, be sure to check-out the narrower, shorter Thermarest BaseCamp Regular sleeping pad.

Your back will thank you for this one!

| This sleeping pad is not only superior to the old air mattresses or blue foam pads, it is better than a lot of hotel beds I've slept on! It rolls up easily to store in the stuff sack (sold separately) and self inflates without any hassle. I like mine a bit more firm than the self inflate, so three or four puffs of air and it's ready to sleep on. I've used this in cold and damp (14F - 50F) weather on some rather unpleasant terrain and never felt a bit of chill penetrate through the pad. This is one piece of gear that I simply will not leave home without! Words cannot truly convey the merits of waking up after a good nights sleep and actually feeling rested and ready to take on another day of trails. This sleeping pad is the backpacking equivalent of bringing a masseuse with you to work out the kinks and knots from a long day on the trail while you slumber peacefully through the night. I find that the few ounces of extra weight over other models is a fair trade for a good nights rest. | |

Can't beat this pad! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| You can't beat this pad for comfort and performance. I just spent a week on the west coast and the pad is all you can ask for. I have some back problems, so it's vital that I get a good night's rest and this pad is the ticket. Open the valve when you set up camp. By the time you're ready to turn in, give it a couple of good breaths to make it firm and it's ready to go. Adjusting it to your own comfort is a snap. Just lay down and let air out until it's comfortable, close the valve, and forget it. It's too heavy and too bulky for backpacking, but it's not billed as a backpacking pad. My son, who was with me, swapped me his 20" Thermarest for this pad. He also, snagged my 25" Thermarest Camp Chair. He came out pretty well on the deal. | |

best money spent on a good night's rest!

| This pad is way more comfortable than the cheap versions. Well worth the price. It is just thick enough to give great insulation and comfort, but not so big that it is too large or heavy. I used this while tent camping in the heat of Death Valley and the cold of Bryce Canyon on a motorcycle trip. This pad offers more insulation than an air matress, I guess because the foam traps many small air pockets, instead of one large air chamber. And, it is actually more comfortable because it isn't too soft. | |

Great pad but poor storage sac
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great pad, I use it for extended camping trips. ie months of overland travel and it works like a charm. One failing is the poor storage sac that comes with it. It's at least 1/3 to big in diamater. After rolling the pad up tight you want it to stay that way. I had to purchase a different stuff sack that was a tighter fit and had compression straps on. Great pad for a good nights sleep and that's what it's all about. | |

Best night sleep in a tent.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is the Best Thing I have bought for camping in a long while. It's comfortable, quick setup, and warm on cold nights. It's also adjustable, you can just blow a little air in it to make it firmer or let some out of soften it up. The main thing I love about this is how warm you stay. Air mattresses have almost zero insulation factor, so you freeze. This is insulated and comfortable. You stay warm, sleep well, and wake up rested. | |

Worth every penny! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Beats the heck out of laying on the ground! Easy to use just unroll open valve and it does the rest. If you prefer a firmer pad you can add air by mouth. Be sure you opt for the storage bag. Not the most compact pad but it is comfortable. It is also a sure bet if you are laying on a slope you will wake up off of the pad because it is slick against a sleeping bag. | |

Excellent buy | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is probably the best value Thermarest out there. Thermarest are a must for camping. I have also used this for concerts on the grass, an afternoon at the park laying down to read, even at home for sleep overs. The only drawback I can think of is that the Medium size is a little to narrow. But very good product. | |

excellent/more comfortable than cheapies
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This pad is just big enough to offer comfort and a good nights rest, but not too big to be bulky or heavy. Offers good insulation from the ground in cold weather. Good valve which doesn't leak. Way more comfortable than the cheap knock-offs which are not comfortable or leak. Well worth the money. | |

Cozy bed | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| With a used up back, sleeping comfort is essential. This pad although too large for light backpacking will give you great comfort. Great thickness, my 200lbs doesn't compress it to the ground, good width, you stay on the pad & full length coverage. Recommended. | |

Just make it a bit sticky!!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The pad is perfect except for a tendency to be slippery. So. I stuck strips of rough tape on it so my sleeping bag would stay put! It worked and I have used it on bike trips and camping for two years now. | |
