Great evolution of the wheel holder
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great evolution of the wheel holder for a roof rack. I've had Yakima and Rocky Mounts, but don't often use them for reasons that the Thule corrects. Automatic anti-spin and great wheel security. This is the first product I've bought that's really designed for a rectangular bar and is compatible with round. Most of my previous purchases have been Yakima-based, which is to say that they're primarily intended for round bars, but often can work for rectangular. Since this type of product is a one-bar mount (as opposed to spanning across both crossbars), I was concerned about the tendency for it to rotate on my round Yakima bars. Sure enough, it rotated, just as I expected. Maybe tightening it down to an unreasonable level will prevent the rotation, but that remains to be seen. | |

| I nestled two of these onto the top of my sedan with three Velo Vise trays. With the trunk rack, I managed to get five adults and five bikes up to VT and back (from NYC). The wheel mounts freed up a lot of trunk space. They can't be secured to the cross-bars so they'll likely not live up there all of the time, but installation was a breeze and they keep the wheels from spinning whilst in transport. | |

Lives up to the Thule name

| I love this product. It's much easier to use than their older version, which required straps to secure the wheel. This product is easy to place into use, and folds down when not in use. | |

| I used to own a small car and this product made it even easier to go riding with a bunch of other people because all of our wheels were on the roof! | |

Works well but rotates on yakima bars

| This product has worked well; however, it does rotate when driving at highway speeds on Yakima bars. I simply rotate them so they're sitting on the roof of the car, and they stay in place there. I've also considered a few methods that might prevent the problem but haven't had a chance to address them. | |
