The Thule Lock Cylinders come in a pack of four. These lock cylinders will lock your rack to your car and/or your gear to your rack. These locks come with a universal set key and a set of keys that fit the locks (one key fits all of the cylinders). Theyre easy to install and easy to remove with the proper set key.
The Lock Cylinders by Thule are designed for you to help keep your rack safe and sound on your car. Thule constructed its carriers and feet to be sold without locks so that you can find the best one to suit your needs.
Rock Creek carries all the quantities of locks you may need for your roof racks.

I bought the Crossroad Railing foot pack, LB 50 load bars, 2 Peloton bike racks, Frontier ES cargo box & an 8 pack of locks.

Must have. | |

Factory fit in my Thule rack, snowboard carriers, etc.. A must have if you dont want your stuff stolen. But one BIG recomendation... Buy a big 8 or 10 pack, even if you dont need them right now. This way everytime you buy a new rack accessory you will still only need to carry one key cause tey will all be the same. If you dont, then you will wind up having to carry 3 or 4 different keys everywhere.

They work on all of Thule's racks, I have a T2 hitch rack and then a roof rack and I just bought a big box of these and they work on all of them. If someone wants to steal it they still can, but these will slow them down. They will basically have to cut the rack as picking these locks will be tough

Good Locks | |

The only bad thing is that locks don't come with Thule parts. These locks are awesome, I was able to install them on the feet to attached to the bars without help in less than 5 minutes for all four! If you can afford the extra locks then you can have some for other thule racks you might install so you can just have one key. It's worth buying locks, you don't want your rack or your gear stolen!

Keep your stuff. - Thule Lock Cylinders

Not locking your board or bike to your rack, and your rack to your ride, just invites trouble. Have peace of mind when you pop in for beers on the way back home. The Thule Lock Cylinders are a great theft deterrant, and as the other reviewer mentioned, why not get a few extra so if you get a new mount you can still use one key for it all.

what can be said about lock cores? the key has a nice plastic head, and the locks come in a cool little metal box (like an altoid mint container). it's these little details that make thule a superior setup. oh, and the price fluctuates a lot. i found these were even cheaper than buying used. go figure.

Like I wrote over on my ski carrier review, you definitely should buy MORE lock-cores than the current number of locks you have. This way when you pick up another carrier (for your other car, or another sport) you can use the same key! These are seemless to install and give great peace of mind.

I used these on my Big Mouth bike rack. They were super easy to install and secure the rack perfectly by locking the bike to the rack, and the rack to the bars. Another quality product from Thule.
