Great alternative to a hard case | |

| We picked up this bag as a compromise to a hard roof bag. The roof boxes are expensive and if you are not using them they are just taking storage space at home. I also looked at regular roof bags but was not happy with the fact that they are designed to either sit directly on your roof or ride on a cage that you purchase separately. I love the fact that this bag comes with "ribs" at the bottom that let you have a rigid bottom and keep the load on the load bars and off the car's roof but roll away when you need to store it. The lock that comes with the bag is a pain to use. I am also not thrilled the bag is not 100% water proof but it is pretty water resistant; we put our sleeping bags and tent up there in our VW golf during a rain storm and they didnt get wet during the trip. I took the extra step to put the sleeping bags in trash bags before putting them in the ranger bags and this seemed to help a lot. For the price you pay for this bag you can't beat it. | |

Easy to manage solo | |

| I wanted an easy-to-handle-and-store, soft roof rack since I must manage it on my own and have a small place with limited storage. This cargo carrier meets those spec. It stores well in its bag, and is mainly easy to install to roof rack -- and easy to remove during vacation so you're not driving around with the empty carrier. The mechanisms attaching the bag to my roof rack are pretty ingenious and intuitive, although you must learn how to secure them tightly (not fully explained but not hard either). The plastic parts of the attachment mechanisms are a little annoying - the small locking pin on one of the four attachments came detached from the unit but as long as I don't lose it during installation, it re-attaches quite well. It's a little tough to zip around the perimeter when closing things up, but that's partly because the material and zipper are sturdy. The carrier is very roomy, yet the whole unit is sized so that I was able to fit a kayak along one side of the roof next to the carrier - and this on a Toyota Matrix. Not bad! | |

Great Cargo Carrier!! | |

| There are many things to like about this Roof Bag. All of the materials and design are high quality. The brackets for attaching the Roof Bag to the roof rack are very simple and quick to attach. It solidly attaches to the car -- no shaking or noise (we used it for a 10 hr RT to the Smokies last weekend and it was great). The luggage sits off the roof like in a cargo box. The Roof Bag rolls up to a manageable size to keep in the back of the car once you get where you are going. The Roof Bag does not look that big but I was impressed how much stuff I could fit in it. The zipper flap provides about 2" cover and there is velcro to make sure it does not blow up in a storm. The exterior straps also have velcro to make sure they do not flap around in the wind. The Roof Bag is a little pricey but is a high quality product and the compactness for storage is a real plus. You will not be disappointed! | |

Great cargo bag! | |

| I've used this product for two longer trips (6-10 hours one-way). During both trips, we drove through torrential rain storms and the bag DID NOT LEAK! Not even a little. The carrier was loaded to max capacity, and it was very stable and secure. It's easy to store (rolls right up into the supplied storage bag) and very lightweight. I'm very glad I went with this easy-to-store bag versus a hard cargo case, as I haven't noticed any drawback to having a cargo bag (versus a box) and it is so much easier to store. The only con I've noted is that the pieces used to attach the bag to the roof rack are tricky and sometimes pop off. You have to be careful to make sure they are locked completely and don't wiggle free during loading. But once they are set and the cargo is loaded, the carrier works wonderfully. | |
